Paladins deserve a bit more. - Random_Overlord - 2010-07-04 Paladins, although a warrior job, need something to boost it's reputation with elemental attacks. A paladin in a sense is a Mage knight, which of course uses melee skills with magic attributes. In the recent Overhaul patches, Paladins have been rendered basicly with the same skills but higher damage rates. Visualy theres no difference until you actualy start spamming Blast + Holy Charge. But what if Nexon added a new skill for Paladins in 4th job that boosted elemental charges to a better height? What if, they made a skill just like Fundamentals in 4th job, but allowed Paladins to randomly cast spells with charges at a 20% rate which happens during final attack. EX: Fire Demon w/ Fire charge Ice Demon w/ Ice charge Chain lightning w/Lightning charge Mini Genesis w/ Holy Charge (Consists of 6 Genesis beams) All the magic abilities which would activate during final attack would be a half the Damage% of the original skills, and they'd be based on physical attack rather than Magic attack.
Paladins deserve a bit more. - LegendGospel - 2010-07-04 Mage knights? I thought they were more like holy knights. Also I don't like the idea, but I do agree they could make their elemental visuals better. Just not make them cast magic. They're still warriors, STR and DEX. Paladins deserve a bit more. - Arroz - 2010-07-04 ya know there's a whole sub-forum for this stuff, and why not try telling a kmser instead Paladins deserve a bit more. - Random_Overlord - 2010-07-04 Arroz Wrote:ya know there's a whole sub-forum for this stuff, and why not try telling a kmser instead I thought "Discussing maple" was the idea of this topic, and since theres alot of people who play KMS here in Sp I thought it would be a better place? :f6: Paladins deserve a bit more. - Arroz - 2010-07-04 Random_Overlord Wrote:I thought "Discussing maple" was the idea of this topic, and since theres alot of people who play KMS here in Sp I thought it would be a better place? :f6: i mean't a pm but from the looks of it your suggested changes are the same as making up a whole new class sorta... but yeah just pointing that out that the only shot to get anything done would be to get a direct link Paladins deserve a bit more. - Loose - 2010-07-04 I think stuff like this should go in the MapleAdditions subforum. Paladins deserve a bit more. - Five Second Pose - 2010-07-04 Moved to the Paladin subforum in the interim, you should really look into posting your threads in the right place. Paladins deserve a bit more. - Hanabira.Kage - 2010-07-04 While we're on the topic of elemental charges, were the attack animations changed? I know Fire Charge and Lightning Charge aren't too bad, but Ice Charge looks horrendous. It looks like you're creating huge chunks of ice as you're swinging your weapon, and the shading and outlining make it look so dated... =.=
Scratch that. Rather than dated, it looks like a drawing by some amateur. I'd prefer it if they updated the animation. =.= Paladins deserve a bit more. - Sorien - 2010-07-06 As a Paladin myself, I'd have to say that your proposed changes seem to be a bit broken. We aren't necessarily mage knights, as you put it, but rather elemental knights. We posses the same basic abilities that are expected of a warrior, but our style revolves around finding and exploiting our enemies' weaknesses. If we suddenly started casting spells then the entire point of balancing the game in those kmst patches would be thrown out the window. Also, I agree with Kage, ice is the ugliest charge we have. Though, I personally don't see what can be done with it, after all how else could one go about depicting an icy sword/hammer swing without actually showing the ice. |
