"screwing the high leveled players", infinte loop? - Hotshot - 2008-08-23 I don't feel screwed since I guess I've never really been high leveled (last char being 104, new one planning to pass it soon), but even though my new char was started 3 months ago, I'm already going to miss out on a ton of upcoming content from KMS. Here's a few examples. 1: New low leveled PQs are released. Some of KMS's newer ones have untradeable rewards (such as Magatia PQ's eye of horus or horus's eye) 2: Monster book features PQ bosses that can't be accessed at higher levels (maybe the new boss pq fixes this? It didn't look like the bosses had any drops though) 3: The new badge system seems to greatly favor lower-leveled players (100k monsters, 5 S's in PQs, 1000 fame within 30 days). Hopefully it'll be changed a bit, but I still think it'll be pretty similar. 4: In KMS you no longer have to roll your stats, get to level your str all you want, advance at your designated level, and start with perfect stats for your job (warriors with 35/4/4/4 and the rest extra, etc). So the question is, should I pick out a name (or not) and make a character, wait for the missing features, and then play it through taking advantage of all the things I can probably never accomplish on here by the time we get it, or the new players of the day only get to enjoy the extra benefits for a while until even more early level advantages are released? :f6: edit: I'm not saying I plan to quit. I'm going to keep playing my current guy because I like to, and because I don't mind missing out on some of it, but due to lack of some of these things it feels like he'll be permanently handicapped compared to new chars. Really, we get pretty much everything kms gets, except some events. I'm no saying I'm going to quit my char and not play until we get all this content, but that I'll keep playing as normal and plan to make a char in the future when we get these things so I'd be able to have things such as a complete monster book (lol HT/PB). If you're talking about getting the medals, do you really think GMS would just skip out on something like a new equip slot? "screwing the high leveled players", infinte loop? - Hazzy - 2008-08-23 I'm done with new characters 'till Pirates. <_< Nexon's improving, so I'm hoping for those features within the upcoming months. I can wait to make a Pirate for those. :> "screwing the high leveled players", infinte loop? - aznegglover - 2008-08-23 Hotshot Wrote:Getting what? Things get obselete once in a while, live with it. There's enough content for pre-third jobbers. <_< Why do they need more? People get hooked on a polished game and decide to buy NX. People who are already high leveled are basically hooked and Nexon feels they don't have to do a whole lot to keep those people playing. They "demand" new content but a lot still continue to play (and pay). It's such a smaller part of the player base, from a business PoV they would rather focus their efforts on 1-70 gameplay to entice more people into playing (now take away the L). Terribly sad, but true... especially when you consider that flashy high level skills and boss fights shown in promo videos of the game are what often attract new players (or at least, that's what attracted me originally). I've said it before (though not on this forum) but it's a sad day when you reach lvl 70/3rd Job with your first character, and not only realize that you've now got access to all kinds of cool new flashy moves, but that there's not very much content aside from grinding spots for from then on. Hitting 100+ adds a bit of variety through boss fights, but really, it's overshadowed by the grinding you'll have to do the majority of the time... Don't get me wrong, the gameplay in MS improves more and more with the more access to new skills at higher levels, but this game could be so much more for higher levels than it is now. At least high level players got a tiny bit of love with CWK... *awaits flaming to begin* "screwing the high leveled players", infinte loop? - godofturtles - 2008-08-23 Lol not flames because even you know that that statement was a joke =P Once bigfoot gets fixed, only thieves, bishops, and high lvled warriors and mages will be able to pass the forest safely. Srry bowmen and warriors/mages below 4th job =/ And then you pass through and get the monsters that resist your elements or seal you. LolCWK. Nexon seriously doesn't know the meaning of balance. "screwing the high leveled players", infinte loop? - NoJobNoRules - 2008-08-23 Here's the thing with waiting. As soon as they release all of those(if they do), then wait a few more months. Ding! Suddenly there is even more new features. It will be a never ending cycle of new things for low levels, so there isn't much point in waiting. As for the perfect stats, I highly doubt that. They easily make tons and tons of money on stat resets(I've bought about 6-8 between my 2 characters, yay packages <3) and will continue to do so. I see no reason for them to release it when rolling a 4/4 isn't too hard. ![]() Just keep playing. cPQ came out, and a few months later a pendant that high levels can get came out, and is now in demand of a lot of players. IMO, the only thing that has come out recently that higher leveled players got gipped on were those Palm Tree chairs, but, oh wait, it is just a chair.
"screwing the high leveled players", infinte loop? - IsaacGS - 2008-08-23 As for PQ bosses in the Monster Book, they are usually available during certain events. For example, at KMS's 5th anniversary, you could trade in the extremely common ETC drop "Maple Leaf" in large numbers for a monster book card every day. I never once did KPQ in KMS, and yet I have all 5 of King Slime's cards. Granted it takes a few thousand Leaves for one exchange, but you can do this on ANY boss from what I've heard (the highest someone had been able to exchange that I know of was Papulatus). Still, I was getting 2-3k leaves a day in my 3x, so it wouldn't be too hard to get more. "screwing the high leveled players", infinte loop? - Russt - 2008-08-23 I thought those leaves were for upgrading 35/43 Maple weapons to their 64 counterparts. Besides, I don't think 15-20 levels before 4th job, if it's even possible, would count considering it can even kill level 200 archers with Hyperbody in one hit. "screwing the high leveled players", infinte loop? - godofturtles - 2008-08-23 We don't know whats supposed to work on it, all we know is that skills like web and poison aren't supposed to have such an effect on BF, as well as doom and freeze most likely. Nexon hasn't said what the actual glitch is because this boss was supposed to be something different the way prose had hinted all along, so maybe we can expect skills like stun to work. Plus i'm not even talking about killing bigfoot, i'm talking about passing the forest. A lot of good skills do if u enter a portal and bigfoot runs you over before you can react. "screwing the high leveled players", infinte loop? - Davidkun - 2008-08-23 GMS has monster cards and all the crap in their data. So we're getting Monster Book soon. Within 1-3 patches maybe? |
