It sneaks into a lot of threads, so this is an attempt to stick it in one. ._.

Genesis > Blizzard + Meteo.

Hooray!

The "Bishop Ult vs. AM Ult" thread - randompeep - 2008-08-22

Would this work?

Genesis = Blizzard + Meteo + Lit. Ult + Poison Ult?

The "Bishop Ult vs. AM Ult" thread - Afrobean - 2008-08-22

Blizzard and Meteo have harder hitting potential when on level playing field.

Genesis is much lower MP cost, and it is, by all accounts, faster as well. This means that on level playing field, Genesis has the highest DPS potential.

No endgame monsters to grind on are weak to fire or ice, yet there are holy weak. This gives Bishops heavy advantage in the goal to gain levels at endgame, although this could be changed at any time in the future.

With functional elemental weapons, the percentage based boost puts neutral Mages about on par with advantaged Bishops in attacking power (particularly if you consider a lukless Mage using the 130 wand and a Bishop using a Maple Wisdom Staff). With these weapons and a level playing field has Mages heavily in the lead (although it is worth noticing that because of the situation with monsters as mentioned above, this instance not that practical to consider).

That's all there is to it. No need for a thread really. Further discussion won't really take it any further other than for people to get mad and vent about the facts I mentioned above. I guess things could go further in depth, such as the variances in power between the two Mage attacks, but that's not really what the topic is asking for either.

Well, the current strongest monster in KMS is neutral to holy, strong to fire, and either weak or neutral to ice (I don't know which it is, I think the data says it's neutral but it still doesn't make sense :/), but any way you look at it I/L AMs still do the most dmg to it.

Also, I think that if you were to use the ults for a strait minute (like at a boss) the AM ults do slightly more dmg.

570x1.35x21=16160
670X23=15410

what is the point of this thread?

The "Bishop Ult vs. AM Ult" thread - blacktiger19 - 2008-08-23

Even if Genesis is not as strong as the other two, I'm not going to ditch my bishop for an arch mage. So I would have to choose Genesis, just because I already have those levels done.

If this thread is so pointless, why do people keep on discussing it at random places Redface

Because those archmages and bishops feel some sort of need to prove which class is superior when in reality it hardly matters at all. Luk vs Lukless? DK vs Hero? WK vs Beginner? Debate all you want but in the end you might as well just play your own class for fun and be proud you chose it in the first place.

I don't get why you would use an ult on a single target o_____o

It looks impressive hitting 50k or whatever, but they do a lot less damage over time than my BM at 122...don't Paralyze and CL outdamage Meteo/Blizz on single targets?

The "Bishop Ult vs. AM Ult" thread - XTOTHEL - 2008-08-24

just an interesting thought....

Bishop VS AM solo training. Assuming the monster is neutral to holy/ice and the AM does do a little more damage...but the bishop only need to train 90.9% because of HS and AM's got to train 100% o_o...if you get me...lol

They've had that "advantage" since level 82. Also genesis is faster than blizzard with a 11+ speed booster so the bishop does more damage overtime.

If you want to consider other skills of the bishop, invincible is godly. Most bishops I see take around 1.3k from newties and my archmage takes 2k.

One of the main arguments that makes bishops better than arch mages is the fact that the best monster to train on has ALWAYS been weak to holy.

Maple was first released - coolies
After that it was grims
then himes
then skeles

See the pattern?

Trying to keep giving slite advantages to arch mages (okay this monster is neutral/yeah the arch mage is using an elemental staff) isn't going to make them have any edge over a bishop.

Bishops have:
Holy symbol
Better defense skills (ER and invincible)
Friggin Heal
Resurection
Ultimate that doesnt take 2x mp
End game monsters weak to holy

I don't hate mages, but it seems like Nexon just might.

Grims are weark to Fire, aren't they?
Although at that time, the only fire attacks were White Knights, Explosion, and Fire Arrow. Not really the best training over 100. D:
Weak to Holy means they're dark and evil, which is what a lot of people seem to want in end-game bosses/mobs. See everyone freak out at how cute Pink Bean is? "We can't have a boss that strong look that cute! I hate you Nexon!" ._.

As I said before, on neutral monsters AMs do better DPS, even with genesis's 2 extra casts per minute.

Actually, KMS's new strongest mob in the Time Temple is the fire monsters, which are strong to fire, neutral to holy and (apparently) neutral to ice. Even so, I/L AMs do the best dmg to them.

I'm saying if you were very high lvled and were trying to solo zakum, you could do some major dmg to his arms, with AMs doing more.

*slaps* Inferno is fire and more damaging than Explosion >_> Since Holy was exclusive to Priests in 3rd job, and Priests are weak shits, White Knights were actually considered very good for a time.

With genesis having a higher spell base, just high enough to negate the advantage that mages have element amp, making both spells equal on raw damage, I don't see how the acrhmage can have a higher dps if they cast slower and tied in damage.

Genesis is 670%

Meteo/Blizz are 570*1.35 = 769.5%

How are they the same on raw damage?
