Gaming Keyboards and maplestory/maplesea, what works? razor, sidewinder, logitech G15 - chrisloup - 2010-06-10

Any ideas what doesn't work with maplesea/maplestory? there is always the risk that (hackshield/ahnlab) it totally blocks usage of the keyboard even for normal usage.

so who's using a good gaming keyboard and what model is it?

(I do know reclusa works, I have one, but i hate the keys on that thing. so blocky, so i'm not even using it)

I'm personally thinking either logitech G15 or microsoft sidewinder x6

It'll be blocked by the horribly coded programme from AhnLab, just get a normal keyboard.

Jebus, getting such a gaming keyboard for Maple? What do you think this game needs? You being able to press 15 keys at once?

a normal $20 keyboard should be just fine for maple. Hurt

I prefer normal keyboards anyway, and I'm sure most people out there do as well. Gaming keyboards have such...awkward layouts and it just annoys me. But yeah, for maple... I don't think anything other than a normal keyboard is really needed.

Far more effective, for me anyway.

Ease up with the you don't need a gaming keyboard for maple thing. He never said he needed one for maple just wanted to make sure what he bought was compatible. Could be he's getting it for other games but wants to make sure he can use it for everything he plays.

Looked pretty nice at first, but then I noticed that the shape around the joysticks was...square. o_o Does that cause any issues?

Nah, although I think I use(d) a slightly different version.
They work really well for games like Maple where you move around in 2D and only have a limited number of buttons to press anyway, plus most of the tools like Pinnacle let you configure ways to do multi-buttons and mutli-sets so you can use combo codes or similar if you do end up playing a class that takes more than six skills.

Well, i have a Logitech G11 and it's working just fine.

I don't use the "macro" keys when playing maple, but i'm guessing they still work.

It was gameguard that block those "special" keyboard before, i doubt hackshield will.

omg! I got the same one Big Grin gots it for $5 dorrahs.

and yes, maple needs no more than a keyboard with media keys (for skipping your own music).

I had three of them and could control two to three characters simultaneously pretty well. Much easier than with multiple keyboards and much less space.

I am a moron with some things so I could never get Joy2Key working on my computer.

It was really easy. :f6:

Now Pinnacle is a bit of a hassle to setup, but it can do wonders that border on botting.

You can do so much with a programmable keyboard including BOTTING if you know how.

So don't underestimate these keyboards just because its maple.

For instance sniping newties would be a trivial task because with the programmed macro features of the keyboard you could bypass maples simple bot script with an advanced enough macro. I have certainly considered doing this but just haven't went out and bought such a keyboard yet (as they are a bit pricey).

Also, keyboards like logitech and crap that use software don't work. You need the ones that can program the keys.

A solution such as xkeys would make a perfect undetecable bot because it would seem like your actually pressing the keys instead of through a detectable program that you have to bypass.

I like controllers better, at least for playing my aran.
My controller has turbo function and makes aran playing amazing, I just hold the attack button :B also xpadder has a function to configure different settings, so for buffs, I hold a key and press others (hold button 2 to change to function 2 and press the D-pad to buff up)

I remember seeing some douchebag say that his logitech didn't work with maple. I'm not sure what he meant by not work with, maybe he meant the macros or something.

Controllers work best with maple. Get Xpadder and a ps2 clone or or something. All classes except mages are a lot more fun with it, and it's damn near required for Arans.

Try and stay away from botting discussion, please.

I couldn't get jump-shots working with Xpadder for some reason. I use the default Logitech program with my DualShock. Works fine. Not much I can complain about, except perhaps only being one shift set, though that's all you need for Maple at most. I always read people QQing "controlelrz dunt hav enuf spaec to maple". If you can't fit everything you need on a DualShock with a single shift set, you're doing something horribly wrong.

Gaming Keyboards and maplestory/maplesea, what works? razor, sidewinder, logitech G15 - chrisloup - 2010-06-11

correct, I don't just play maplestory. it would be nice to have a keyboard that can do alot of things. why would i want to switch keyboards in between games. thats just plain silly.

furthermore, arans are more flexible if you had 1 button presses for their keys (not that I play aran). imagine 2 consecutive rounds of ht .

so far I haven't heard a suggestion on what works. just what doesn't. its hard to buy on that advice alone.
