The Problems with Bigfoot - Chompy - 2008-08-16

I know he is glitched.
And I know everyone who is not a F/P is outraged.
But When/if they fix him..
What will be the repercussions?
Well bigfoot is kinda like Anego or Crow- A normally trainable map with an ungodly stronger boss.
Well except there are 8 Bigfoots a channel not 1.
So far he has no decent drops either-
So after we all get our Big Toes-
Who will kill him-
Sure an occasional person who doesn't care for Anego and Crows drops will.
Bigfoot is much easier to kill than the latter two-
...
I believe on the lower populated servers a problem will arise-
1. An awesome training spot will be killed for lower levels-
2. All mages and Archers will be forbidden from passing the barrier that is Bigfoot- Thus making CW some awkward NL/CB/Warrior area for higher levels-
...
I think unless Nexon changes drops with Bigfoot when they change his Boss status-
He will run Rampant and destroy hopes of CKGlitter

From my position I'm hoping he will get all poison-type attacks disabled (or just cap them to 20-30k dps) but still be able to be stunned.


BTW once you have the Crimsonwood map you can get past the Phantom Forest without ever entering a map that has Bigfoot on the same platform. Swamp -> Crossroads (top) -> Forgotten Forest (top).


To get it you have to run through the Phantom Forest once, as long as you've activated the proper quests first.

this is something I've been worried about too. When we first got in after the patch, before all the FPs and thieves with Shadow web discovered their new eXP source, it was really hard to get through the forest because every portal had the risk of coming out onto a Bigfoot.

If they do fix his poison status, what will happen? He won't be hunted that often because he's too fast for archers and even NLs to deal with. Profit hunters won't bother since he drops nothing of value. Warriors can't really take touch damage until extremely high levels. The elemental attributes make it undesirable for mages...

The forest is overrun with Bigfoot, and it's impossible to reach the keep! Not good.

Isaac, you know it wasn't lvl 16x that warriors can take touch, unlike that one person said? Any warrior can take touch like 105ish, dks with hb, and wks/saders with power guard.

That pretty much solved it.

Besides, anyone who cannot get passed bigfoot would probably not get passed the monsters in the Keep.

Well Stereo put my main concern to rest.
Still being FORCED to have it will be a pain-
Plus HOW WILL WE DO CK quests-
It is annoying enough as a PRIEST with MG finding HH all over.
But Bigfoot is a BEAST.Glitter
This is such a lose-lose situation (if Nexon leaves it as such F/P will be THE bandwagon class)

Let me rephrase- Without the maps- you must pass Twisted Paths to get ANYWHERE.
Also the Signpost Training areas will be TOTALLY useless- as will any HH hunting for lower leveled/low hp players
Really all of Phantom Forest will be ruined.

The more bigfoots there are, the easier Sheriff Badges will be to get >_> The toe is the only item I haven't got, and it's only cause there aren't any Bigfoots to kill.


And no, 10x DKs cannot take a hit from Bigfoot. They need to be ~118+, same as WK/Crusader currently.

If they make it a boss, Powerguard loses 20% of its reduction and you bump that number up to about level 145 for HB-less Paladin/Heroes.



FYI early in the patch (before people confirmed it could be poisoned) I pinned and killed a Bigfoot in a party of 6 with no stun/freeze. Ranged attackers have no problem with it in groups.

@Stereo: From what I read about your explanation on the Crimsonwood map and my own humble knowledge about the forest, I deducted that: The map makes it possible to go 'through' certain portals (and not going around in circles?)? Or to put in another way, it redirects you to the correct and desired path instead of screwing you up?

I agree, I died like a few times on several different characters doing quests there coz of bigfoot.
Bigfoots damage should be nerfed to my opinion. A whopping 9k (approx) to most thieves and bowmans will surely get 1HKOed by that attack. Warriors and some mages with high MP can barely withstand its attack.
Headless horseman is an issue too, he killed some of my exploring characters in the crossroads with his damage (those character are all 70-).

I think Bigfoot has high touch damage for a reason, so it won't be changed.

EDIT : Let it be said that I know of an F/P who hasn't become a selfish papaya who KSes every time that isn't me.

It's very easy to get to the Keep without using a Twisted Paths map. I can't wait until they fix Bigfoot. It's nearly impossible to get the Toe I need right now, because it's turned every F/P into a selfish papaya who KSes me every time.

@ felix: Well, all bosses were free for alls from the beginning...i try not to KS anyone of their bigfoot kills though. I hunt them in the evil rising map. Tongue

I think that if they make him a boss, they NEED to reduce the speed by at least 60 points.

bigfoot isnt that fast, a couple MM or a solo BM can pit it, it has better exp ratio thn anego too so it isnt bad. the fp are a pain though and the problem of going trough a door and dieying really is a pain, but i guess a lil ds mule to find em would do the trick.

It's the fastest thing in the game. (even more so than a Pepe) How is that "not that fast?"

Free for all, yes. But respect has a been a virtue since the beginning of time. Just because it's "just a game" doesn't mean people shouldn't still show some respect for others. Every time I find a Bigfoot, a F/P mage steals it, simply because they NEED MOARRR EXP.

Frankly, it's pathetic.

Blegh, everyone's smashing up F/Ps, but when another boss gets nerfed to give an advantage to a different class, we'll just start flaming them. F/Ps barely get recognized or get to take advantage of something in this game. Nexon will hopefully fix this soon and the F/P era with be over - again. So just let the F/Ps be "selfish greedy bastards" for a bit, and we'll all chill down and deal with it.

Lol f/p are so underrated, you act like they were worthless before bigfoot when in fact they have always been a class that has level faster than almost everyone else. Its never ok to be a selfish greedy bastard, especially not for the reasons you state. F/P are better lvlers than i/l, so where's our shining moment?

Hehe. I'm sorry to hear that there are some people being that way.

I admit, yesterday night, after searching for 7 hours and only seeing 2 bigfeet, I KSed another person without second though. (The spawn rate was pretty frustrating.) However, I gave him decent compensation for that (considering the foot didn't drop, if it did, lol... I probably couldn't compensate for it. >.>)

You should hire a FP mage with mist or hermit with shadow web to kill it for you.

I helped two other people get their toes yesterday.
