Nuzlocke Challenge - DarkestTempest - 2010-04-05 So I was randomly browsing Smogon when I came across this thread: http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=68998 Kitten Bukkake Wrote:A friend brought this to my attention from a comic (link in the P.S.). I think this will be fun. I am not currently doing it, as I have more grandiose plans for SS and it's got my focus, but I think the fun cannot be ignored. (I am on run 2, just started as I am writing this, but I WILL do this soon). It looks really interesting to me. Anyone else feels up for it? Nuzlocke Challenge - Khoi - 2010-04-05 This is so epic. LOL. I'd totally do it, but too bad I don't own a DS to play any of these new games. Nuzlocke Challenge - Solarboy - 2010-04-05 Wasnt there a thread with a comic related to this challenge? Anyways. Im gonna try it on Platinum Nuzlocke Challenge - Will - 2010-04-05 I'll try it on Diamond after I clear off all of the pokes. I guess I failed at doing it in fire red.
Nuzlocke Challenge - Dusk - 2010-04-05 My roommate shared this with me a few days ago, and he's not even a Pokemon nerd. Seems like fun, but I don't have a spare game to try this on. I guess I could start a new file on Pearl and not save, but that would stop me from playing my other games. Nuzlocke Challenge - Loose - 2010-04-06 I'd do it... but I don't feel like deleting my process. Nuzlocke Challenge - Greg - 2010-04-06 Stupid Smogon butchering /v/'s creation. Nuzlocke originated from a comic, and the two rules are based off of the first panel:

Nuzlocke Challenge - FelixTM - 2010-04-06 This sounds awesome. I'm gonna replay Platinum under these rules. The no healing items seems a little too harsh, though. I may have to make some exceptions to that one. I don't think I could avoid the need for them in some situations without massive overleveling, which is retarded. The dude on /v/ made his comic based on the Nuzlocke rules, he didn't create them. By the way, the comics were posted here in the funhouse. Edit: Never mind, not even too sure if the dude made them or not. I remember seeing similar rules made years ago, but not sure if they were ever labeled "Nuzlocke". I'll see if I can dig the post up on Serebii.net somewhere where someone said they would go through a Pokemon game without healing items and releasing fainted Pokemon. Not sure if any of the other rules were the same. Edit 2 - http://www.nuzlocke.com/?page_id=2 Says he made them. Looking for the Serebii.net post with similar rules made in like 05 or so. Probably coincidence though, since I'm sure he isn't the first person to think of imposing such harsh rules on a Pokemon playthrough, considering how easy the single player game is. |
