Questions regarding Pokesav, Flash Carts, and WiFi - mrcowcow - 2010-03-29

I'm completely stumped about how to use Pokesav. I've researched for well over three hours today and well over two hours yesterday. I'm finding a bunch of information about how it works, yet I'm not finding anything helpful on how it works. Apparently, there's a few methods on how to use it, involving WiFi and using the DS's GBA slot. Does anyone mind explaining how using it works? I understand the UI, but I don't understand how to transfer files onto the computer and back it up.

As well as that, I'm totally new to the concept of Flash Carts. Apparently you can use them to play games without buying them, but I plan to buy the DS Pokemon games sometime in the future. How do they even work? Searching isn't helping me very well either.

And is it true that DS is able to connect to Wi-Fi through the use of a USB adapter? I remember reading that the function was no longer supported, although thinking about it, I can see how this can facilitate using Pokesav.

If these kind of threads are not allowed, please close/lock it, moderators. Thanks.

 Pokesav FAQ

I've been planning on using pokesav for a few things, but I still don't know how to work it myself. Bacon sent me this FAQ a while ago and I bookmarked it. Maybe it'll help you.

To Pokesav, you just open up the .sav file found in your flashcart and edit away. No need for SSHing or GBA slots.
