For real Pokemon Trainers.

Post your FC and we battle.
No EV/IV trained pogeys. Only hardcore pogeys we poured our love into.

How the hell would a battle be casual? You guys don't switch Pokemon or anything?

No, f'aggot.

WE BATTLE LIKE TRAINERS. NOT MILITARY SOLDIERS.

No such thing as a "casual battler". If you battle online, you're forced to play by homo f[Image: lol.htm]aggot EV/IV trainer rules.

Who says it can't be done, groggles.

The fact that such battlers are nearly nonexistent on Wifi. Smogon, among others ensured that. Arranged battles are literally the only way this would work.

IMO, the concept of EVs and IVs that make each pokemon unique is a good concept, but implemented badly.

I mean, if we want to make our pokemon the strongest (talking about EVs for now) We have to spend tens of hours fighting just 6 pokemon.. I mean, how does a pokemon that spend forever fighting bidoofs and (insert other EV trainingpokes here) end up better than a pokemon that you played through the game with, fought pokemon higher than its level, and raised by playing the game the way its meant to be played. IMHO, instead of monsters giving EVs we should have maybe workout rooms in our secret base, or minigames that give EVs. Minigames + pokemon sprite interaction while you have fun >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> battling 252 bidoofs

Ivs arent that great. Sure they make the pogeys unique, its not like EVs where sometimes you want HP, and sometimes you want SPATK, you always want all 31's (aside from hidden power) Plus it takes FOOOORRREEEVVEEERR to breed perfect IVs. And its not even fun nor does it require skill. Just lots of time, and a lot of luck.

This is exactly the point.

Post your FC, we arrange FUN BATTLES. Do any of you read?

Smogon started a revolution many years ago since the NetBattle days. I never knew it was such a competitive-scene on WiFi though. Interesting, tempted to get a DS. Thanks for telling me. Also, you can play casual, just find another casual player.. like those kids that plays D/P next to your house, somewhere in your neighborhood. Problem solved. Not being sarcastic.

that only works if people nearby both have and are willing to do so.

- No entry hazards
- No switching
- No status moves except Hypnosis, Thunder Wave, and Toxic
- No Substitute, Taunt, etc. Who the pineapple uses that pomegranate?
- Liberal amounts of profanity allowed whenever above moves are used
- Redundant movesets encouraged (Fire Blast + Flamethower holy pomegranate AWESOME)
- The only type advantages are Fire->Grass->Water->Fire. Lots of confusion every time a super-effective happens due to any other matchup.

@above: Why do people always make EV training sound like a grueling long process? It literally takes 10-15 minutes per Pokemon. It is very easy to understand. You don't have to participate in more than a couple dozen battles. It takes longer to train it on random Pokemon up to level 50.

Dumb thread

Casual battle thread - Hazzy - 2010-03-24

Is there a defined line between casual and not? If I build my team to fight the E4 off of builds from Smogon, is that casual or srsbsn?

Come back sucks.

Anything works in-game, you're taking it way too seriously.

Thread sucks.

I poured love into my EV and IV trained pogeys...
My Metagross wasn't even breed, I chained to get it Shiny and Synchronized to get the nature I wanted.

Meh, I may join a battle or two sometime, if I'm not disqualified for having Pokemon that were EV trained.

I liked this post, thanks. And yes, EV training is hardly anything that takes hours at all. Breeding to get good IVs is when you end up spending a crapload of time, which is why I usually keep that to a minimum. The only Pokemon that I breed with good IVs and use in a majority of my teams was my Togekiss.

srs post then

I miss Gen 1 when I was in 4th/5th grade and everyone just spammed Hyper Beam and didn't care about their Pokemon's stats except the typing, too, but planning movesets and EV training is just part of trying to win. Anyone who wants to battle Pokemon and win is going to read up on it. This thread just translates to, "L> battles, noobs only." There doesn't seem to be any kind of a gray area between tourneyfag and people who don't know the first thing about Pokemon.

WE BATTLE WITH OUR FAVORITE TEAMS JUST FOR THE FUN OF IT.

WHAT PART OF THAT DOES NOBODY UNDERSTAND.
