Pole-arm question - Duelman - 2010-03-22
Ok so I am currently level 90 and want to upgrade my weapon.. I have a Maple Karstan with 7str/99atk and would
like to know at what weapon attack would a Hellslayer or Eclipse overpower the karstan in terms of dps or dpm.

You'd need about a 10-15 attack difference or more to make up for lost DPS. It's hard to say without really specific information (such as your stats), but I don't want to do all that math. 10 is a good general number to work with from personal experience from my polearm days. I'd personally keep the Karstan until you can get a 110/120 weapon or an Arcglaive.

Considering booster, the eclipse would need to have about 9.1% more attack than the karstan.
For the hellslayer it would need about 13.6% more attack.
(compared using the attack speed scale for normal attacks of polearms, could be slightly off since I don't know the exact speeds of aran's attacks vs weapon speed class)

So yeah, 9-14 attack. You'd probably want a 115ish if you could find one, but you're honestly better off waiting until 110 and getting a 120ish Chelbird.

If it makes any difference I would be making the PA's with maker so my base attack won't be awful hard to achieve.
I might just hold off though, mabye try to scroll a better karstan while I wait to get to a higher level.
