Hey Grog! and southperry. - Sarah - 2010-02-23 I know how many games you trade in and how much you hate getting ripped off, so I thought I'd bring this to yours, and southperry's, attention. Gamestop is offering 50% more money when you trade in your games for a limited time, apparently. I don't understand why people do this, personally, but I'm sure it could benefit those of you who do. Quote:GameStop's TV ad proudly proclaims that it's the "biggest trade event ever." We can't really disagree. Starting today, GameStop stores will be offering an extra 50% bonus on used game trade-ins, boosting their usually-paltry offerings into the "sort of worth it" zone. Your old copy of Madden 08 won't really help you much in this promo. Instead, look to capitalize on newer game trade-ins. Using the CAG database, we discovered that Modern Warfare 2, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Dante's Inferno, and BioShock 2 will net about $35 of credit each. source: http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/22/gamestop-offering-50-bonus-on-every-trade-in/ Hey Grog! and southperry. - Kawasari Mimoto - 2010-02-23 GameStop rips you off as it is, their 50% isn't worth crap. This may be true, but Grog often complains about how ripped off he is and people seek instant results, which gamestop provides. Frankly, I think trading in games is a sad practice. I don't spend $10 - $80 just to get rid of it a week later. But, on the other hand, the people who trade in their games provide me a chance to get ones I want so no complaints. Hey Grog! and southperry. - Greg - 2010-02-23 It's a shame that this is only a promotion. I'd definitely change my opinion on Gamestop if this were to be permanent. $53 for trading in Mass Effect 2? That's nearly its full retail price. Looking through my games I really don't think I have any worth trading in, even with this 50% bonus. :< Hey Grog! and southperry. - Rick - 2010-02-23 I trade in games. I traded in 3 awful car racing and war games of my step dad's for a huge discount on the mighty Kingdom Hearts 2 (not at GameStop, but EB Games). |
