Fun Math Time - Hazzy - 2010-02-04 Here's a list of numbers. Code: 100; 125; 128; 160; 200; 250; 256; 320; 400; 500All numbers in this sequence are real, positive numbers. the sequence is always increasing, there is a finite amount of numbers in the list, 100 is not the start. Go.
Fun Math Time - Sn1perJohnE - 2010-02-04 575 is next, and the number before 100 was....50? Fun Math Time - Hazzy - 2010-02-04 Both are wrong, but I realize why this is a lot easier than I meant it to be. D: Fun Math Time - Sn1perJohnE - 2010-02-04 Hazzy Wrote:Both are wrong, but I realize why this is a lot easier than I meant it to be. D: Correction, 625 is next (500 / .8) before 100, it is 80. (100 ^ .8) Sequence is .8>.9765625>.8>.8>.8>.9765625 repeated. Fun Math Time - Hazzy - 2010-02-04 625's off, but 80's right. o-o Fun Math Time - Sn1perJohnE - 2010-02-04 Are you sure? seems right to me following the sequence, unless im doing the math for the final number wrong.
Fun Math Time - Riyuran - 2010-02-04 512 is next. 80 is before 100. The fail in this thread makes me laugh.
Fun Math Time - Sn1perJohnE - 2010-02-04 NVM, its 600 even, sequence is now +25+3+32+40 (time 2 to continue) Fudge, i missed a number, 512 is correct (6x2=12+500) Fun Math Time - Hazzy - 2010-02-04 Sn1perJohnE Wrote:NVM, its 600 even, sequence is now +25+3+32+40 (time 2 to continue) ![]() Wut @ randomly removing me image. Fun Math Time - Sn1perJohnE - 2010-02-04 Wait, is 600 right? a_@ I know the sequence is for sure. Gah i fucking hate math (and a statistics class is heading my way >_>) Fun Math Time - HellenzSin - 2010-02-04 80 and 512, was expectign something harder. Fun Math Time - Sn1perJohnE - 2010-02-04 HellenzSin Wrote:80 and 512, was expectign something harder. It could have been, its a basic sequence, with the only real challenge being the x2 part. If there was more variation in how the sequence progressed, it can be harder. Fun Math Time - Hazzy - 2010-02-04 If you want a challenge, tell me the first and last numbers in the sequence. Fun Math Time - Russt - 2010-02-04 Well, the sequence is all numbers 2^m * 5^n, but there's nothing to indicate where it starts or ends. I would assume that the first is 1. Maybe the last is 100000000? Fun Math Time - Shidoshi - 2010-02-05 the sequence is just taking a few numbers as "start" say 100, 125, 128, 160 and the next four numbers will be the double of those numbers: 200, 250, 256, 320. and repeating. There is no reason for the sequence to be limited. Fun Math Time - Hazzy - 2010-02-05 Russt Wrote:Maybe the last is 100000000? Wut. I got the sequence from a list of factors of 1,000,000,000 that I found via my calculator + lonely lunch. Should I check my room for bugs? |
