New Classes!: Blue Mage, Beastmaster &... PIZZA BOY?! - shagreen heart - 2010-01-25 Class: Scholar (Adventurers) First Job title: Student Second Jobs: Blue Mage or Beastmaster Third Jobs: Azuremancer or Lion Tamer Fourth Jobs: Arch Shapeshifter/Mimic/Azurite or Jungle King [never made up 3rd job names or beyond so i just made these up on the spot] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ So in the scholar class you start as students who study the monsters of maplestory to keep the world safe. But both students eventually take different approaches to learning from the monsters. One learns to copy and act like them, the other, learns to tame and domesticate them to fight back. -Blue Mages primary stat is INT, and secondary stat is DEX -Beastmasters primary stat is STR, and secondary stat is INT -Beginers need at least 40 INT to become students. -Blue Mages wield dictionaries/books as weapons, Beastmasters wield whips. Student Skills: Monster Book Card +: Droprate of monster book cards increases passively Scan: Successful cast allows the player to visibly see the exact amount of HP and MP of a monster, and element weakness. Whiplash: Must have a whip equipped. Mid-range attack that deals 142% damage to one monster, and half damage to a second monster directly behind it, stunning the second monster. Homework: Drop a pile of books on a mob of monsters to induce sleep with a certain success rate (deals no damage). Monsters can be attacked continuously until awakened or defeated. (sleep lasts randomly between 1 and 5 seconds, can't be used on bosses) Spellspark: must have a book equipped. attack a monster with a basic magic attack from a beginers manual. Can randomly hit up to 2 monsters up to 3 times, and randomly deal damage between 120% and 400% (very LOW chances) Monster Book Mastery: Uses the monster book as a kind of potions menu. Scholars can gain card buffs before level 30, and from monsters below level 30 , and can collect 'extra cards' to use their buffs at any time they wish. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ BLUE MAGE Blue mages can absorb and collect monster magic attacks to use in their own arsenal, including any element, status attack, buff or recovery skill, at the cost of their own MP, but can only carry a certain amount of blue magic with them at once. They can choose any arrangement of skills they wish to have and can customize them to suit their training needs, but blue magic can cost a lot of MP depending on the technique Devour: Captures a monsters soul inside a book with a certain success rate if the monster is very close to death. Randomly gain a certain Blue Magic skill (all blue magic will have a set percentage to acquire), and a certain amount of casts (can be a little or a ton, and you can greatly increase the amount with Sapphyre) Blue Magic: This skill will have a very high mastery level, probably up to level 60, or even 70. this will be a complex skill that allows you to open a second window and select blue magic to hotkey. only a certain amount of blue magic can be hotkeyed depending on the 2nd job skills, and blue magic level. Once you have leveled a certain skill to it's max level, you can use it infinitely. Blue Magic Mastery: This skill allows you to level up all blue magic so you eventually can use your blue magic attacks infinitely. some blue magic will be much harder to level than others. Sapphyre: Increases Blue Magic cast drops upon devouring (so you collect even more of the spell upon devouring), but increases monster's magic attack and defense, and makes the monster appear to have a blue, dripping aura. BEASTMASTER: Whip Mastery: you know the specs Whip Booster: same as usual. Capture!: With a certain success rate (a very very low success rate), capture and tame a monster the same level as you or lower to help aid you in battle. Your monster recieves the same party buffs as you, and attacks all monsters around you. Uses their own unique attacks that they already have. Only one monster can be captured in 2nd job, and can be released at any time. Bind: Holds a single monster in place with your whip and stuns while slowly dealing weak damage. Slightly increases capture success. Lion's Eyes: with a very small success rate, reduces the monster's level by as much as 20 (max). can only be cast when a monster is bound Bullwhip: attacks and grabs a monster behind you and sends it into a mob of monsters in front of you. can deal up to 245% damage at max and mob damage decreases after each monster. Beastmasters can't get the maker skill, but get a similar skill that allows them to make clothing and armor and whips and various monster related equips out of monster drops. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Those are the basics of the two different class divisions. 3rd job and 4th job Blue mages will recieve more Blue Magic hotkey spaces, and the ability to find higher level Blue magic, as well as to shapeshift completely into monsters. [plus whatever else you guys think is a good idea] ~Possible skill ideas~ element resist skill, secret blue magic techniques to be found, book mastery, avoidability bonuses and magic defense boost if you have all the magic attacks of a certain monster equipped, from that certain monster, and an improving MAX MP skill -upon making the 2nd job advancement as a Blue Mage, you get a special untradeable book called the "Tactician's Strategy Guide" that only deals 1 damage no matter what. 3rd job and 4th job Beastmasters will be able to capture more than one monster at once, learn more powerful whip attacks, and can make stronger monster equipment, and cause large def and speed debuffs against monsters, as well as raise the monsters level. [plus whatever else you guys think is a good idea] ~Possible Skill ideas~ -passive movement skill like thrust, a passive skill that keeps monsters stunned with a certain % rate (low chances) even if you attack them, and a skill that turns your whip into a rope if you're falling (it grabs the closest platform to you, does some skill animation, and you're hanging off the plat a little bit by your whip, whcih you can climb up or stay on if you want for 10 seconds, exp bonuses if your monster kills the same type of monster -Upon making the 2nd job advancement as a Beastmaster, you get a special untradeable whip called "The Tactician" that only deals 1 damage no matter what. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Pizza Boy Yeah, he's back. This is a fun class that can only reach level 100. You can either do quests that require you to bring certain healing items or pizzas to NPC's and your EXP is based on speed and time and accuracy. You can also get exp by delivering potions/pizzas to characters in need. Other characters can buy delivery forms if they think they might run out of potions while training and fill them out. They are immediatley visible to the pizza boys if they are at their shop, and you get in line to take certain orders. The ideas got pretty crazy and sweet last time we were thinking about the pizza boy class on here. Pizza Boy's can't use return or town scrolls, and travel everywhere on speical delivery bike. At later levels they an upgrade to a total piece of crap car for a big defense and speed boost as well as an inventory boost (for boss runs). Pizza boy's don't make exp from killing monsters, but can take damage themselves. But they can avoid damage with their "Swerve" skill in which they either go to the left or right of a monster, totally avoiding them for exactly 1 second with a 2 second cooldown with a hilarious animationThey can also enter boss maps if the person who filled out the order form is in it, and gain a huge avoidability boost on them, but can still be killed. Pizza boys don't lose EXP, but they can fail their delivery, costing them money. the amount of potions they can carry is very limited, and sometimes they might have to use the items they are delivering. Pizza Boys can obviously recieve tips from players, but make a set amount of money otherwise from successful deliveries based on the items, speed, and damage taken. yeah. who wouldn't want to be one? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ OK! Commence feedback. [this was copied from my thread on basil. i really enjoy the southperry forums and their members so i wanted to share it here, and it's also a really good excuse to register. love the intelligent and humourus posters here. here's the link to the orignal if yo uwant to read the comments: http://www.basilmarket.com/forum/1375621/6#25577850 thank you mods for moving my thread to the correct forum! x)] New Classes!: Blue Mage, Beastmaster &... PIZZA BOY?! - shagreen heart - 2010-01-27 nothin, really? i was really happy with them. you guys don't have any 3rd or 4th job skill suggestions? New Classes!: Blue Mage, Beastmaster &... PIZZA BOY?! - Corn - 2010-01-27 Lol love the Pizza Boy. So who do they deliver the potions to? The players or the NPCs? You imply both. New Classes!: Blue Mage, Beastmaster &... PIZZA BOY?! - shagreen heart - 2010-01-27 both. NPC's are for quests, and it's like training cause you get lots of exp/mesos for it, just like delivering to players in need. |
