So I was excited when they pulled out their website! It can be viewed at poptag.nexon.net
Half the reason I thought this game was going to be so enjoyable for me was to be able to customize my character with various cash equipments! I mean a couple years back I used to spend about 20 minutes just picking out cash items that I wanted and moving around with it in the cash shop.
Then, Nexon America hit.
I viewed the "Hot Items" section, and guess what I saw. A freaking NX outfit that lasts 10 DAYS and it cost 9500 NX! I mean, seriously? 9500 NX for 10 days? I mean I expected prices to be quite high but at least cash items were permanent in the Korean Server with prices about 10000 NX for a really good cash item.. This is ridiculous.

For 9.5k nx for one item, you could buy one of the download versions of bomberman on a DSi/Wii/360/PS3 and have a better game that is actually free from that point on. Give or take anyway, can't actually check the bomberman prices at the moment. lol

So if I wanna play PopTag, I must create an MS account and lvl it to the point where I can hunt items well enough to make mesos to then buy scrolls for gloves for attack and sell them through MTS and once i have the NX i can buy myself one item for only 10 days to then repeat the whole process once the item expires?.

No, I am not trolling. This is only my opinion.
You guys whine too much about NX when all of you know that you can get it for free. If you don't want to spend time making NX, go and use your money to fund this great gaming company(yes, I am serious, too). Money was not meant to be saved... use it, you could die tomorrow. ... or just play without NX? It's not a must.

Yeah, sure. Even at "free" that doesn't stop the price being extortionate, and $10 for a virtual item for as many days is a complete and utter buttrape. Even the most expensive overalls in maple at ~5k nx for 90 days? So are you seriously saying that charging what is basically 18 times as much is justifiable ever?

I spend about $15 a day eating out, and maybe maybe around $40 or so to eat at home, but itll most likely be repeated meals or something.
For these items to expire in 10 days, the prices need to be cut nearly 80%, regardless of your ability to get NX for free using Maples MTS system. Id rather have the items permanent for the same price or not have them at all. At their current prices, a major class schism will appear between the people who do buy the items, and the people who dont, as the people who do, will be more apt to keep buying them.

You surely can't be trying to compare a first need element, needed to actually stay alive, to a virtual one only used for recreational purposes, that ceases to exist shortly after its purchase, takes the same effort to produce one or 50, and only works for stetic purposes.
Why would anyone want to spend 1$ a day on a game that is a complete ripoff from another? It's just that it'll become a notable failure if it keeps like it.

Take, for example, this weasel poop drink.
Yes, it actually contains weasel poop. And people drink it. And they pay to drink it. They pay a lot to drink it.
You have to understand that under a free markey economy, eventually there will be someone who buys anything, simply because they have the money to spend, and it is their choice to spend it. If you don't believe me, then go to an auction. Something is only worth as much as someone is willing to spend for it.
He is also right as well: you can get NX for free by using the MTS. Pavel isn't arguing that everyone should pawn off their items in the MTS just to get temporary items. He is saying that it is your choice whether you want to buy those items or not and how you spend your money, and you also have the choice to acquire NX in game via MTS if you absolutely wanted it, but didn't have the money to spend it in real life.
Most of you have already voiced your opinion that this is very expensive and ridiculous scenario, but where there is a will, there is a way, and if the game gets a large enough sample of players, you'll eventually see X % of them buying these items at the high premium, simply because its their money to choose to spend.

I completely agree with this idea, and what Conciente said, but I find the arguement that someone who plays PopTag, and has never played Maplestory before, would understand the idea of going into an entire other game and devoting time to getting stuff there so they can get NX. That is an illogical arguement, because unless you're already playing Maplestory, you probably won't even know the MTS exists.
