Abortion- but for men. - Rick - 2010-01-17 First off, this is not a thread to discuss whether female abortion is right/wrong/murder/nachos/whatever. If that's what you're here for, leave. I am not quite sure how many of you have heard of the concept of the male abortion, but here is a quick overview. Basically, it is the opportunity for the man to cut all ties to the child. Permanently. To make this decision, the man is given until the end of the period a female abortion is possible. He does not have to pay child support, he does not have to care for the child, he doesn't have to do anything. Of course, he also has no visitation rights, no say in how the child grows up, no rights to it at all. I'm interested in hearing Southperry's thoughts on it. Personally, I am in support of it. Men are royally screwed over when it comes to pregnancy. Once a woman gets pregnant, she holds the direction of the man's entire future in her hands. I am not ok with that. The man may not feel he is ready for parenthood, be it mentally or financially, but the way things are he has absolutely no rights. The woman can choose to have the baby and the man is then legally obligated to financially support the child at the very least, even if he is in no position. On the other hand, if the woman feels she is not ready, she has the ability to put a stop to it (even if the man wants the baby, which is another way men get screwed). You can't force a woman to have an abortion, that's just awful, but I feel men should have the same rights as women. Abortion- but for men. - Tay - 2010-01-17 Guys do this regardless, if they're cowards. Women won't take this to happily, but whatever. Approve. Abortion- but for men. - god - 2010-01-17 If you don't want a kid male-wise, just get a vasectomy. You shouldn't produce a kid if you don't want to keep one. Use a condom, switch to plan b, or cut your balls. Abortion- but for men. - Rick - 2010-01-17 Not wanting a kid is completely different to not being ready for a kid. Condoms can fail, vasectomy is permanent. And that's not the point of this thread, the point of this thread is discussing equality between men and women. If you wanted to bring it on topic, I will say that women also have contraception available to them yet they still have the abortion option. Abortion- but for men. - KaidaTan - 2010-01-17 Everything in the first post makes sense to me, and I have nothing more to add. It's only fair, really. Too bad good ideas like this will probably never happen. Abortion- but for men. - hyperhopper - 2010-01-17 this is stupid. if you dont want a kid or arent ready for one, think about that before you have sex. if you really dont want a kid this much, DONT HAVE PRE-MARITAL SEX! In terms of abortion and parent-hood, men have little rights. It only seems fair that they can have some sort of say in the child as well. Abortion- but for men. - Rick - 2010-01-17 Whoosh is the sound of the point of the thread going over HyperHopper's head. Discuss equality between men and women in regards to abortion, not the issue of abortion. Stay on topic. Abortion- but for men. - hyperhopper - 2010-01-17 no, my personal opinions aside, people have to learn to TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR ACTINS! if they have sex, there is a chance that a baby will be formed, and they should take responsibility. im not talking about abortion, im talking about this men thing. if they have sex, and a baby is conceived, its thier responsibility to take care of it. not just say nice knowing you but i dont wanna take responsibility and help this child. Abortion- but for men. - Rick - 2010-01-17 You're still not getting the point of the thread. Please, just leave. Abortion- but for men. - hyperhopper - 2010-01-17 i see the point, you want men to be able to take no responsibility if they have sex and get a girl pregnant Abortion- but for men. - Rick - 2010-01-17 It's sounding an awful lot like you are saying sex is initiated and carried out purely by the man. It takes two (or more if you're in to that thing). The woman has a way out if she feels she is not ready, and the man does not. Discuss it, not the conception itself, or leave. Abortion- but for men. - y0y0y0y0shi0 - 2010-01-17 hyperhopper Wrote:no, my personal opinions aside, people have to learn to TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR ACTINS!So you're pretty much saying that women have no responsibility in getting pregnant? So.....you're being sexist. This thread is on the equality of men and women. You're saying that men have all the responsibility in the woman getting pregnant, implying that they are worthless and are only used for making babies. No. Just no. Abortion- but for men. - hyperhopper - 2010-01-17 NO, the woman has responsibility too, and i think abotions (or what it actually is, the killing of a child) should be outlawed. but this isnt a thread to discuss that. You don't even know what it is, why are you discussing it? 2. If this isn't a thread to discuss it, WHY IN THE HECK ARE YOU DISCUSSING IT? 3. Just no. Equality of men and women or nothing. Don't derail this thread, please. >.> Abortion- but for men. - Rick - 2010-01-17 Well you go make a topic about the right to an abortion and I will gladly debate it with you, but will you please leave this one unless you're going to discuss the point. Abortion- but for men. - whybanme - 2010-01-17 OP's first post does make a lot of sense. Women can decide to have an abortion or not, totally oblivious to the man's decision, so a man should have the same right as to not have to deal with the womans pomegranate! Abortion- but for men. - Adramelech - 2010-01-17 Agree with OP, nothing more to say. p.s if whats his name keeps going off topic just ignore him and don't quote him peeps. Abortion- but for men. - hyperhopper - 2010-01-17 whats my name? its on the top left of all my posts.. learn2forum |
