Basically, a group of people decided to spam her everywhere. People got interested in her because she's hyperactive and weird or something, dunno. People just saw something in her that got them excited.
From there it just became half actual fans, and the other half just spamming her to troll since it was obviously pissing people off.
She wasn't really that much different from any other TRENDY teen with ADHD. It's just that she was spammed to the point where she accumulated her own fanbase.

I was at the Cafe down the street. At the Cafe, the owner of the place does indeed regularily visited 4chan, so he started telling me about "Boxxy", I lol'ed. Let's just say that, and then he shows me his awesome laptop which has awesome Japanese-Anime walls. I said "Wow, John, where'd you get these from?", he replies "4chan, go to /w/", so I'm like "...", and now where do I end up? Well, you guess it. Yes, the owner of the goddamn cafe goes to 4chan, the dude has a DOMO on his menu, they play Magic: The Gathering on Mondays, Street Fighter on other days, and SSBM on like.. near weekends. Fcking best Cafe, EVER.

I believe she was also stalked in real life or something when someone posted her info on /b/. Though, that may have just been a couple of /b/tards making stuff up so it seems like they were making "EPIK LULZ".
There wasn't anything special about her really. It's likely some /b/tard who was on Gaia stumbled on her account and youtube videos, then spammed it until he eventually recruited other spammers over the internet.
