Critical Hit - +5% probability at all levels, critDamage = 105 + (Level * 3) (up to a maximum of 150%)

Aurora Recovery - Consumes MP and HP (MP = HP), recovery increased to 80%

Onix Blessing - Cooldown reduced from 3 minutes to 2 minutes

In the opening animation for Evan, they removed the straw hat from the boy.

New type of scrolls coming too. The success rate for these scrolls is dependent upon how many successful scrolls have been used on the item.

It can't be 108 + (Level * 3) if it sums to 150%.

Interesting new scrolls sound interesting.

They could've made it where levels 14 >15 only increase in probability since level 14 makes 150%.

[1.2.273] More Evan Tweaks - Bribery - 2009-12-11

So their Critical is now 30% Success/150% Damage instead of 25%/170% damage?

Onyx Blessing still seems useless Rolleyes

[1.2.273] More Evan Tweaks - Nikkey - 2009-12-11

Let's see those scrolls.

[1.2.273] More Evan Tweaks - Fiel - 2009-12-11

Okay, definitely not sure on any of this, but I'll take a whack at it.

It seems you can use these scrolls without consuming slots, but there's a tradeoff - you could blow the item. Also, you can only use the scroll a set amount of times. You'll notice on each scroll is etched a piece of equipment - sword, pendant, whathaveyou. Whatever is etched on the scroll is the item you can use it with (sword meaning any weapon).

Every time you use one of these scrolls on the item, the chance that the next scroll will work decreases, but the cursed rate (60%) never decreases.

For items which traditionally have 7 slots, the success rates are as follows: (ID = 20470xx || 20471xx)

# Times UsedSuccess RateCursed Rate
170%60%
250%60%
336%60%
426%60%
519%60%
614%60%
710%60%
87%60%

Traditionally 10 slots: (ID = 20472xx)

# Times UsedSuccess RateCursed Rate
170%60%
255%60%
343%60%
433%60%
526%60%
620%60%
716%60%
812%60%
910%60%
107%60%

Traditionally 5 slots: (ID = 20473xx)

# Times UsedSuccess RateCursed Rate
170%60%
235%60%
318%60%
412%60%
57%60%

[1.2.273] More Evan Tweaks - Nikkey - 2009-12-11

wat. Can you use 8 scrolls on a 7-slot item?

[1.2.273] More Evan Tweaks - Link - 2009-12-11

Wow! Screw those scrolls. One would be nice, but going beyond one is stupidity. I also don't see anything special about those scrolls. They only give +2 to a certain attribute and no attack to the weapons? You may as well just Maker and item with super above average of a certain attribute.

DO WANT.

@ Evan changes: Nice to see a cooldown reduction for Onix's Blessing, though honestly the skill shouldn't have one. For something that boosts MATK by 50 and the useless DEF and MDEF stats by 100, such a boost won't be GAME-BREAKING if you can use it whenever you want.

Oh, and eh about the critical magic reduction. In the Maple Discussion subforum Racie had just mentioned the decrease from 170% -> 150%, but an increase in 5% probability might make up for it enough? Can anyone redo DPS calculations and see if Evan Blaze/Illusion single target DPS decreased with this change? Thanks!

0.30 * 0.5 < 0.25 * 0.7

0.55 * 0.9 < 0.5 * 1.1

The new ones (if my math is correct):
Quote:Critical Magic is 1 + 0.3 * 0.5 = 1.15x multiplier
SE alone is 1 + 0.15 * 0.4 = 1.06x multiplier
CM + SE is 1 + 0.45 * 0.9 = 1.405x multiplier

Base Attack * Amp * Critical / (Cast time * Booster coefficient) = final total power

Paralyze + EWand: 210 * 1.4 * 1 / (0.8 * 14/16) * 1.25 = 525.0 BA/sec

Illusion: (130 * 4) * 1.35 * 1.15 / (2.01 * 13/16) = 494.3 BA/sec
Blaze: 330 * 1.35 * 1.15 / (1.32 * 13/16) = 477.7 BA/sec
Blaze + Ewand Fire: 477.7 * 1.25 = 597.125 BA/sec

Paralyze + SE + Ewand Poison: 445.2 * 1.25 = 556.5 BA/sec
Illusion + SE: (130 * 4) * 1.35 * 1.405 / (2.01 * 13/16) = 603.9 BA/sec
Blaze + SE: 330 * 1.35 * 1.405 / (1.32 * 13/16) = 583.6 BA/sec
Blaze + SE + Ewand Fire: 583.6 * 1.25 = 729.5 BA/sec

So they're still stronger than Paralyze but their DPS has dropped with the critical change.

PS. Do we know for sure that Evans don't get +35 basic attack from Mastery and Soul Dragon?

The old ones by Russt:
Quote:Critical Magic is 1 + 0.25 * 0.7 = 1.175x multiplier
SE alone is 1 + 0.15 * 0.4 = 1.06x multiplier
CM + SE is 1 + 0.4 * 1.1 = 1.44x multiplier

Base Attack * Amp * Critical / (Cast time * Booster coefficient) = final total power

Paralyze + EWand: 210 * 1.4 * 1 / (0.8 * 14/16) * 1.25 = 525.0 BA/sec

Illusion: (130 * 4) * 1.35 * 1.175 / (2.01 * 13/16) = 505.1 BA/sec
Blaze: 330 * 1.35 * 1.175 / (1.32 * 13/16) = 488.1 BA/sec
Blaze + Ewand Fire: 488.1 * 1.25 = 610.0 BA/sec

Paralyze + SE + Ewand Poison: 445.2 * 1.25 = 556.5 BA/sec
Illusion + SE: (130 * 4) * 1.35 * 1.44 / (2.01 * 13/16) = 619.0 BA/sec
Blaze + SE: 330 * 1.35 * 1.44 / (1.32 * 13/16) = 598.2 BA/sec
Blaze + SE + Ewand Fire: 598.2 * 1.25 = 747.7 BA/sec

You can when scrolls do not consume slots

[1.2.273] More Evan Tweaks - JoeTang - 2009-12-11

See, now that you've edited your main post, mine makes me look like an idiot.

I like the diminishing returns on the new scrolls, but seems to hard mode still with that high of a Curse Rate. If the scroll fails, does it count as a use or do only successes count towards the total number you can place in an item? Not that I'd expect anyone to have 8 of these on anything.

[1.2.273] More Evan Tweaks - IllegallySane - 2009-12-11

Slightly more stale damage for the Evan, but also lower overall damage.

Interesting beyond interesting. I guess I'll have a lookup on how this may affect the economy and how much these scrolls will be worth and such later on.

This, but it's 0.45 * 0.9 < 0.4 * 1.1. Just by a tiny bit.

I think it's nicer to have higher rate / lower damage though in general. Damage is a little less variable.
