Trojan? - Rei - 2009-12-01
Tried asking the tech help in sw but no luck, so maybe someone can help me here.
Today was I browsing through sw and when I went to the Aran subforum, my avast antivirus alerted me of a trojan, so I told it to move it to chest.
Then windows popped up with an error message. Something along the lines of avast has stopped working, end program.
I didn't know how to get the little icons back onto the taskbar so I restarted. When I went to look in the chest, there was nothing there which confused me.
I went back on Firefox and a few minutes later I get a separate full-window popup with four tabs, one of which didn't load properly. At first it was just one window, but it started to pop up about 5-10 of the same exact window.

I attempted to figure out what was wrong and just replaced avast with Avira and downloaded Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware hoping it'd help.
They found a couple things, and when I removed them the problem still persists.
Also, attempting to boot in Safe Mode causes my computer to restart. I haven't tried booting in Safe Mode prior to this so I'm not sure if it just happened or what.
I don't really care where I got this problem, I'd just like to get rid of it. I know most people use something called HiJackThis for problems like these but I'm not entirely sure how it works.
I'm scared to log into anything except SW/SP to post about this issue.
Help would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like one of Sleepywood's ads has a virus, lol.
If you didn't click any ads or anything, try clearing your cookies and stuff. That probably won't work, so I guess you can post a HijackThis log. Someone else can explain HijackThis better than me, lol.
