From the pirate quest chain, the one dropped when you attack the bird. I dropped it thinking I would be able to get another one when it was needed but I can't break the bird again, and Kyrin isn't handing one over.
If the old paper is needed again, I need that as well.

You can't get either one back. But you shouldn't need them anymore if you're at the part where you have to open the chest.

You got the wrong chest, I made the same mistake. Go to the far left end of that hallway and hit that chest.
