Nexon Wrote:Attention Maplers,

We have seen reports of the AVG anti-virus software giving a false positive with the latest MapleStory update. We assure you that this is purely a false alarm, and the .79 update is perfectly safe. We are actively working on resolving this issue with AVG.

Rest at ease, and we hope you enjoy the new update.

Question for paranoid people: Who do you trust more? Nexon, people who dedicate their lives to making money at your expense, or AVG, people who dedicate their lives to catching viruses?

AVG definitely. Remember how in Nexon's ToU that they state they basically have the right to all your information? This is them abusing their powers for sure.

Well what AVG did was delete Maplestory.exe, and move it to the virus vault. That means everyone who uses AVG, couldn't play maplestory anymore, unless they knew how to use the virus vault file restore function.

I guess Nexon implemented some new upgraded Themida encryption on Maplestory.exe to fight Aran's being available on pservers with the upcoming december patch.

No it didn't. I have AVG and it only blocked it from opening. it never moved or deleted anything.

It depends on the "virus found, what do" settings (probably set during the installation). Some people configure it to auto-delete and some to auto-block, etc.
