If you don't know what cryonics is, here's the definition from Wiki:

I was in my public speaking class today and my professor showed us a speech about cryonics. I've never heard of it before, though I'm not surprised. Personally, I wouldn't do this, and find it to be a bit disturbing. What do you think? If it were to actually work, you could possibly wake up a thousand years from now and see how Earth turns out.
Also, the speaker also mentioned that you can choose to preserve only your head. This would mean that your head would get surgically removed and it would be the only part frozen. People who do this are hoping scientists will be able to give/make them better bodies in the future (if their bodies were in bad condition at their time of death).

Reasons why I would not like to live in the future:
- My friends, family, and even acquaintances wouldn't be there with me.
- Immortality could eventually be discovered, and I don't want to live forever.
- The freaking sun.
- Rhode Island may be completely underwater by then.
- I would know nothing of the world and would be forced to relearn it all over again.
- There could possibly be another language which I'd need to learn to speak.
- The U.S. will most likely be a vast metropolis by then (a depressing thought, to me).

We talked about cryogenics in my Earth & Environmental Science class. My teacher and Shelby thought that Walt Disney had been cryopreserved but I looked it up and it turned out to be a common myth.
