I've done everything that the stickied thread recommended, but to no effect. My netbook is lagging more and more by the day. I'll try cleaning the hard disk tomorrow, but I doubt that'll do much - suggestions?

And yeah, I know I've been posting quite a lot of threads here lately. I just don't want to screw up my new netbook like I did with my old computer. Tongue1

If you mean cleaning by removing unwanted files, it does ALOT than what you think. I usually reformat everything every year or so, if it gets laggy.
All my homework/pictures/videos/etc are stored on multiple thumbdrives, cause I like my computer clean. Theres nothing on the desktop `-`

Clean it! Just use a vacuum-cleaner around the fans and check that they work properly.

Then, reformat. I tend to do that when my computer goes slow. Even though you guess what would happen: It speeds up.

Blowing out the fans with a can of air can do wonders. My laptop was going ridiculously slow, then I opened it and cleaned out a year's amount of dust, and it was magically better =O

It's weird, though - my account's laggy, but my sister's isn't. Does it have something to do with me using it more often?
