Decided to go ahead and light 500 NX on fire by buying a box, got the aura ring.

It expires 12/22/09, so yeah, not permenant. I suppose I got it on the cheap, or something. Meh! Not worth doing, says I, unless Pink Bean isn't too rare, but I'm hoping it is... wouldn't want to see Pink Bean everywhere I turn. Goggleemoticon

I got a Brown Puppy.
The other pets only last the regular 3 months, but the timer doesn't start until you take them out of the CS, so you could save them till you need them and then start the 3 month timer. Otherwise they're the same. Betting this applies to all the CS items from the box.
