Neo Tokyo - Sapreaver - 2009-09-18 I am a notorious forum lurker. I was reading the thread about msea getting neo tokyo and decided to put some reasons behind the "high" damage" First off Maplestory takes place in an alternate dimension that has magic and cool stuff. They travel to our future in tokyo. Looking at our armour even if it is magically enchanted. it is still extreamly lacking for stuff the future can throw at us. Be happy all the boss don't blind every attack thanks to lasers. Take for instance this boss here. ![]() Take a very good look at this boss. Now think how hard it would be to kill by your self. impossible. look at all its turrets. think about how much each of those would hurt. Now. Think about something the US army invented. Not sure what it is called but I know what it does. It is a machine that shoots in to the air and then shoots out 4(i think) disk in each direction like a ufo and each of those disks rain down melted copper. Think about how much damage THAT would do to a maplestory character. Now think about a gun. that is fired by a computer, it is a handgun with 6 barrels an electronic trigger that can fire 12 bullets(2 per barrel) perfore the gun can recoil enough to stray the accuracy. Neo Tokyo is 2095(I believe). There is NO reason at all why it should be as hard as it is. The stats for that boss are Level: 168 HP: 70000000 MP: 40000 EXP: 5300000 Physical Attack: 1250 Physical Defense: 1000 Magic Attack: 1280 Magic Defense: 800 Auto-Aggro: 1 Avoid: 28 KB: 120000 Boss: 1 do you see why those stats seem reasonable.(should be higher imho(hp wise)) I am going back to lurking Neo Tokyo - Sn1perJohnE - 2009-09-18 Look does not equate to hardness (ala Pink Been) Its somewhat redundant saying that some horribly hard looking boss should actually be horribly hard to kill. Most people gripe about Neo Tokyo due to the impossibly high damage when you are a ranged character, which have unfathomably low HP (even in high lvls without HP washing), so it basically forces some people to never experience the area because they cant even touch most things that are there. Neo Tokyo - Typhoon - 2009-09-18 im confused at what your point is

Lemme use this as an example. Right now Maple has sharks. After 100 years to improve on technology, we now have sharks with frickin' lazors on their heads. Neo Tokyo - Christopher - 2009-09-18 I hope GMS never gets Neo Tokyo never ever ever ever ever ever Neo Tokyo - Grey - 2009-09-18 Well then, I think I/L Archmages should be able to one-hit every computer controlled robot because they could overload their systems with lightning and/or generate an electromagnetic pulse, it looks like that would work, same with Thunder Breakers too I guess. Why would they be able to do this? It's magic. Magic vs Technology in Maple... I would say Magic wins. Unless... we assume the very existence of magic has changed the course of technology, allowing it to improve beyond magic. Neo Tokyo - Takebacker - 2009-09-18 Why isn't this in the funhouse. Neo Tokyo - Sapreaver - 2009-09-18 Marksman Bryan Wrote:I think he's saying that since Neo Tokyo is so far in the future, the technology advanced and got stronger. exactly, the range thing a little harder to discuss. but it terms of our world and the Maplestory world. ours is MUCH MUCH more advanced weapon wise and Armour wise. If you still complain be happy they can't attack you before you can see them ala sidewinder missle or artillery style. Just of Curiosity what is the average damage per arrow for a bowmaster using hurricane and a Nightlord using Triple throw these days when I quit I seen night lords hitting 20k crits on skeles and bow masters were about 20k per arrow of hurricane. The only attack I could see still doing damage is thunder spear if it was realistic lol and chain lightning but still not enough power to completely obliterate a caged computer look at the CN tower it gets struck and it doesn't explode Neo Tokyo - Sn1perJohnE - 2009-09-18 Sapreaver Wrote:Just of Curiosity what is the average damage per arrow for a bowmaster using hurricane and a Nightlord using Triple throw these days when I quit I seen night lords hitting 20k crits on skeles and bow masters were about 20k per arrow of hurricane. On snails, with 11 SE, ~2 Hurricane, lvl 129, using a 12 attack pot, I can hit a high of 9.5k or so with crits, and im using (premaker) decent equips. Neo Tokyo - Corn - 2009-09-18 Maplestory =/= real life. Natural lightning isn't prolonged. Our current protection is based on long ranged and assuming it'll only last less than a few seconds or so. Close ranged, focused, and prolonged, do you think that anything could protect them from that? Neo Tokyo - bio9205 - 2009-09-18 ClawofBeta Wrote:Maplestory =/= real life. This. Close ranged, focused, and prolonged, do you think that anything could protect them from that? it doesn't matter how prolonged it is as long as it can be redirected. lightning lasts a tiny amount of time strikes around the same spot 3 to 5 times in that time and it about the size of a pin prick the real damage would come from the heat from the lightning strike. Neo Tokyo - byakugan - 2009-09-18 How the hell this thread got so many replies in a couple of mins? You guys are lazy as hell. If you had read the other thread past page 5, you would have read the explaination from aslemn about how Neo Tokyo got nerfed after it's release and most training mobs don't do more than 4k dmg. The only boss with untakeable dmg is aufherean (w.e is called) which has an avoidable attack of 24k dmg.. Actually, hes right, at least the posts are saying that the highest they do are around 3.8k, which aint much more than CGs. |
