My MP3 player like, farted out or something. - Five Second Pose - 2009-09-10

I have a Sony Walkman (model NWZ-E436F), and it won't connect to my computer. When I do connect it (uses USB), it says "new hardware may not work properly". I delved deeper and found out that it was "error 10 - device cannot start". Is there any way to fix this without sending it back to Sony? It's still under warranty for like, two weeks.

USB Device connection problems? Smile

- Remove current drivers
- Restart Windows
- Install new drivers
- Restart Windows
- Reconnect USB Device

Oh and is there a special "PC Connect" setting -ON- the walkman that you have to activate before you connect it to the PC? Some devices have that to save power... Smile

Er, how would I go about removing and installing drivers? That's the only thing on Devil's list I haven't tried yet.

Er, I fixed it. For anyone else having a similar problem, I did this (from another forum)

Sony mp3 can be detected as removable disk
just follow...be sure your player is connected to pc
go to my computer right click>>properties> IN HARDWARE TAB select device manager>portable audio>right click select update drivers>click next>tick the option let me choose driver for this device>next choose usb mass storage driver from two options click next....
AND U R DONE....
