The Dream Analysis Thread - MasPan - 2009-09-09 This is not for lolSP funhouse dreams. Basically, when you wake up, immediately post anything you can remember from your dreams. This will aid in not losing the memory of the dream and give people an oppurtunity to try to figure out what it all "means." Note I don't believe in dream analysis 100%, but it can lend some insight to what a person is thinking/feeling but not admitting to themselves. I do NOT believe that dreams can predict the future. I'd start it off, but can't remember my dream anymore. The Dream Analysis Thread - TøbiasBlack - 2009-09-09 MasPan Wrote:I'd start it off, but can't remember my dream anymore. lol, geez, thats kinda defeating of the purpose. i dont remember how it started, but it ended with me, in a mall, carrying bags from some store, and holding a baseball bat, going to the food court to see two people i know, and me walking into the backwork area and see someone trapped under a sink, and friend B left the place through a door to nowhere... The Dream Analysis Thread - MasPan - 2009-09-09 TobiasBlack Wrote:lol, geez, thats kinda defeating of the purpose. in a mall - represents that you want something, but don't know what. carrying bags from some store - combined with the above, it means you may have found something you were looking for (or didn't know you wanted). Not knowing the what the item/store was means you haven't realized this yet. holding a baseball bat - represents an urge to be more physically active going to the food court to see two people i know - again the variety implying you don't know what you want. The people there may or may not be people you desire a relationship with (a desire for variety could reasonably be linked to indecisiveness). and me walking into the backwork area and see someone trapped under a sink - You view work as a burden, as oppressive. You find it difficult to "have a life" and may blame work (or school, or w/e else) for this friend B left the place through a door to nowhere... - you feel that people randomly exit your life and are never heard of again. Knowing you, could be a reference to a mutual friend that we haven't heard from in months. The Dream Analysis Thread - TøbiasBlack - 2009-09-09 MasPan Wrote:Knowing you, could be a reference to a mutual friend that we haven't heard from in months. nah. its not her; the two people are people i had crushes on. oddly enough, disturbingly matching that description, i had only started to like her after she left for college in another state. no, with regards to her, ive already made my peace and moved on. put my heart to words enough times now over her that all that had once been in me is now quite literally gone, and, open for scrutiny by others. if she ever decides "hey, im bored, lets see how *name omitted*'s doing lol," then fine, ill be civil, but i will be the one to terminate the communications this time. not the other way around. The Dream Analysis Thread - Serenity - 2009-09-10 My dreams are rather chaotic, thers no real interruptation only imagination. One night I could have a reoccuring dream of me in a zombie/monster while I fend them off within my house. I can control my dreams in a sense as I always test new things each and everytime, and realize that this has happened before. I also further test myself by opening new loopholes. For example, the original demise I faced was I was overrun by zombie/animal beings. They obviously want to kill me and try to break down the door. My family is safe I don't know where but they are safe. I barricade and wait. Once I open the door I get ambushed and die. Yes I have died in my dreams. Maybe 3 months roll back and im in the same situation, this time I climb out the window, lock the mutants or what not int he house and bomb it. Whoo hoo victory is mine. Next thing I know some survive and chase me down obviously gettign caught eventually. My most recent one was I was able to fend them off, news said everything was fine. I was up in my room while I watch my mother walk outside and get bit. THen I have to watch her slowly die and become them, she cleans to cope and asks me to leave with everyone else. Disheartening. Another dream I find somewhat sadistic is when I kill my dog. In real life I'm very sensetive and would never ever purposely hurt an animal, but in this case I shoot it by accident or what not. When I get into fights within my dream for some reason I feel held back by every punch I throw, as if none of them are damaging. I see them take each one, no blood no bruise, its as if a force is keeping me from releasing my full strength even though I call upon it. Recently it was my sister because seriously she can be a real selfish peach sometimes. I had another dream two nights ago that proved my spirit was vigilantish. I had the powers they have in DBZ, energy blasts and what not. I took action into my own hands and killed millions of people for sheer enjoyment. Borderline evil but I know if I ever got such power I would slaughter majority of mankind. Have fun
The Dream Analysis Thread - Narguz - 2009-09-10 Lately I've been dreaming with spiders and birds. I read they have to do with friends around and stuff. Sometimes I just dream one of my relatives is bleeding. But thank god they are all healthy and ok. Dreams show you what you're afraid of and is your duty to learn from them and overcome your fears. The Dream Analysis Thread - Herbert Jablonski - 2009-09-10 I don't have a particular dream I feel like sharing at this moment, but what I will tell you is that the vast majority of my dreams are pretty cool. A lot of them involve a lot of adventure elements. Seriously, when I wake up from those types of dreams I think that I could use a lot of the ideas to write a good book or something. For one reason or another I seem to have quite a few school dreams, but they aren't about any school I've ever attended before. Very often the first thought I have when I wake up from one of those school dreams is, well, I just like to think about their building structure. I don't think a lot of my dreams really have a deeper meaning or any kinds of symbolism, to me they're just there to be a goddamn awesome adventure. This might sound a little weird, does anyone here listen to music while they sleep? I've had a few dreams where there's this song playing for one reason or another and when I wake up it turns out I was listening to the song on my mp3 player as well. I've tried this quite a bit, but it has really only worked a few times. The Dream Analysis Thread - DeanNim - 2009-09-10 Dreams cant tell the future. You shape your own dream without you knowing afaik. Adventure elements (kindof vague, so this is my best shot) could be a boredom with your current life, or a vague romanticism School dreams (when not your own school) could be related to anticipation of a future education, with a bit of uncertainty as to where you think you are heading in life. Of course, as you said, they may not have meaning - it's all based on the dreamer. Meaning is only there if you put it there, in the same way that a near-death experience may or may not be taken as a life-altering turn to religion. @ Above - I appreciate it, but this is not a debate thread. It is meant for me to be able to practice my analytical skills, not to be taken as "This is fact change your life because of it." When people start arguing, it detracts from what the real thread is for and discourages people from posting on topic. If you want to debate the value of dream analysis do it elsewhere please. The Dream Analysis Thread - Serenity - 2009-09-10 MasPan Wrote:Adventure elements (kindof vague, so this is my best shot) could be a boredom with your current life, or a vague romanticism I'll give you a dream that will probably scare you ![]() I'm in a kitchen, pink and white tiled, the furniture, pink. The floor, not staright at all, distorted, hilly very round. Think tom and Jerry. The ceiling is the sky and a type of a megenta. The size phases in and out without any notice. I'm with my mom and a monster comes, it looks like this but is pink and white as well to blend in http://www.jedisparadise.co.uk/childrenstv/Maggie%20and%20the%20Ferocious%20Beast/Maggie%20and%20the%20Ferocious%20Beast003.jpg He bites my mom in half and she runs around with half of her body missing. I fight the cow with a fork and win eventually where the kitchen begins to shatter and break. I'm in a white space covered in blood by the cow fight and transfer into the white ranger. I then battle with my Tiger Zord, that actor who does the blue monsters voice in monsters inc. He beats me and I end up going all kaokain and beat the pineapple out of him. The street sharks showed up with big bird who they kidnapped, they snapped his neck before I unsheathed my sword and fucked em up. I woke up all of a sudden after I got bit by one of the sharks. The Dream Analysis Thread - ablu2 - 2009-09-10 Um... Me and my family had just got to a house we were vacationing at, then our best friend walked in, and a minute later, i turned around and saw this other kid who I hate washing dishes or something. Then we went to explore the house, and I found this huge room with a ton of people on two escalators or staircases. I went up the right one, then the other one and I think it ended. The Dream Analysis Thread - DeanNim - 2009-09-10 im not debating. im just sayin. i myself find this thread pretty cool. Ok first off, does wet dreams count ? The Dream Analysis Thread - Takebacker - 2009-09-10 I request throws' dream be analyzed. ![]() DeanNim Wrote:Dreams cant tell the future. You shape your own dream without you knowing afaik. I had a dream once that a friend of mine's GF would break up with him. It happened later that week. I had a dream once that a meteor crashed into my house. We learned about meteors in science the next day. The Dream Analysis Thread - Herbert Jablonski - 2009-09-10 Yeah, sorry for being vague. It's just that most of them are so different from one another and some of them are sort of hard to describe. I don't really have a lot of recurring dream elements. Actually now that I've thought about it for a while, there's a few that do have that are a bit similar to each other. I do know of some of them where I have super powers. Most of the time there's like 3 or 4 powers I have access to, but I only end up using the power of flight most often. I've had some that involved time travel. The only thing about these types of dreams is most of the time I have access to some sort of special ability or powerful technology I end up spending the majority of the dream trying to hide that fact from other people and using the power as secretly as I can. I don't really have dreams like these that often though. If I were to lay 100 of my dreams in one big pile and count them all out, I'd say only about 8 or 9 of them would follow the two above examples in this post. A lot of the other dreams I have don't really follow any particular pattern, they're just adventure. The Dream Analysis Thread - Mark - 2009-09-11 You want dream analysis? Here's a good one for you. About a couple of weeks ago I had a dream where I was in a mall with some old highschool friends. I didn't recognize what mall it was, but it seemed fairly empty. Anyway at one point of the mall there was a mangled corpse. It was pretty fresh considering the police were around and investigating. We commented on it, and then left..or I woke up. I don't remember. Now last night I had a sequel to this dream. It was the same mall and the same friends. I was walking through the mall to meet up with them and the corpse was still there. It seemed to have decayed a lot more. I'd say it was about a month later. Anyway when I met up with them I told them that the corpse was still there and asked why they (the police) didn't clean it up. They didn't believe me and went to go look for themselves. They came back and shrugged at me then we went to a store and I woke up. What the ****, man. The Dream Analysis Thread - VladTheLvr - 2009-09-11 One dream I remember is that I was in church in a wedding (not my own) and there was like a loud scream followed by blood appearing on the floor followed by an arm falling from the ceiling. The weird thing is that the other people did not hear the scream (I asked did you hear that scream?) and the wedding continued till normal and when the bride and groom finished kissing and began to walk out of the church, they stepped on the pool of blood and then I woke up.
