Obama Talks to Kids - Hazzy - 2009-09-05 And parents are MAD at a President taking time to talk to school children.... ![]() http://www.denverpost.com/commented/ci_13257516 *waits for someone to link to a thread already made about this that Search didn't show* Obama Talks to Kids - Jon - 2009-09-05 ... Parents are so silly. EDIT: And I hadn't heard about this at all, before just now. Obama Talks to Kids - Chuey - 2009-09-05 I read about this on Yahoo on Thursday and posted on my personal forum about it. If I'm mysteriously mixing up two events, then feel free to yell at me... :f6: Me Wrote:http://news.yahoo.com/s/ynews/20090903/ ... ws_pl888_1 Yay, link messed up because of PHPBB bein' a peach.
Obama Talks to Kids - Derimed - 2009-09-05 Hazzy... are you really such an Obama fanboy that you can't see this is a cheap publicity stunt? Obama gets up in front of a random bunch of schoolchildren, gives them a pretty little speech, takes some pictures wiht them, and hten goes to his office and does whatever the fuuck he wants. He is not "taking the time" to talk to them, he's doing this to look good for the cameras. This ploy will have literally no impact on policymaking, other than fooling voters into thinking he's a great guy. The President of the United States is not going to alter his policy based on what some random schoolchildren say to him in a classroom. His policy is based on behind-the-scenes buttsecks where he takes it up the tailpipe from high-power contributors and Democrat special interests. Mind you, Bush was the same way, and he had his little moments when he hugged little schoolgirls and it was broadcast with AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWs on Faux News. That same Faux News is broadacsting identical $hit by Obama in a negative light because Faux News takes it up the tailpipe from REPUBLICAN high-pwer contributors and special interests. They're all scum. Obama Talks to Kids - rayhovite - 2009-09-05 Yeah....publicity stunt.........telling kids it's important to stay in school and get an education. Man that boy Obama sure is up to his sleezy tricks! Err......no. It's a legit speech and people are cheesing it because they have nothing better to do but sling mud. Morons. Obama Talks to Kids - Derimed - 2009-09-05 rayhovite Wrote:Yeah....publicity stunt.........telling kids it's important to stay in school and get an education. Man that boy Obama sure is up to his sleezy tricks! Bush said the same thing, and Democrats called it a cheap publicity stunt. It's all seen in a different light when it's the guy you voted for doing it. Kids aren't going to stay in school/drop out of school based on what they heard in that speech. Their teachers and parents and values have a much bigger impact in that area. Honestly, a politician going to a school and telling the kids to "stay in school" is about as cliche and ret@rded as telling the public that he's "pro-environment" and "tough on crime." It's one of those things EVERY LAST ONE of them will do, even if he's David Duke from the KKK party. Obama Talks to Kids - Goals - 2009-09-08 I always thought Obama was a little lame too. I dunno why but I don't like him. He seems a bit superficial & cheesy to me. O.o Obama Talks to Kids - holyforest - 2009-09-08 The speech wasn't political. The Republicans and parents are freaking out over it. The speech was well said, straight to the point, and inspirational. Anyone who says otherwise doesn't know what they're saying. /end thread Obama Talks to Kids - rayhovite - 2009-09-08 Quantact Wrote:Bush said the same thing, and Democrats called it a cheap publicity stunt. Obama wants to roll out billions for community colleges and regular colleges, and that's why he's doing this. It's not cliche, its' not retarded, it's legitimate only because they are walking the walk, not just talking the talk. Obama Talks to Kids - GMSInfighter - 2009-09-08 And he even bagged on the xbox.. How dare you Barack! Obama Talks to Kids - Doxinator - 2009-09-08 I was skeptical of it, at first. Even if it was a 'cheap publicity stunt', it still had a good message. Pretty much, getting an education is important. I like that he emphasized that, and how if we fail a class or whatever, we fail America. Pretty much this speech went on during Psychology. Some people were asked to listen to what he said, then the others were asked to watch his body language and stuff. It turned to be quite interesting. It certainly didn't LOOK like he was doing this as a publicity stunt to boost himself into more power; it looked more like he was concerned for everyone and was trying to help boost everyone else up a little bit more. Obama Talks to Kids - parshimers - 2009-09-09 can't have that socialist jigaboo talking to your youngin's, now can you. all they need is the word of the lord jesus. goddamn i hate this country sometimes Obama Talks to Kids - Bacon - 2009-09-09
Obama Talks to Kids - TøbiasBlack - 2009-09-09 ... ITT: a bunch of up-tights not seeing that for those children, being able to see the president is something that they would remember for the rest of their lives and whining that politics dictates whether or not a president should be able to go to the future voters and tell them to stay in school. who cares if there is an ulterior motive to his speech, REALLY? big deal, he's a democrat. guess what repubs, we've had 8 years of bush, and look at the state of the public opinion on your party? dont like it? tough, now shut the pineapple up and stop trying to ruin these children of a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Obama Talks to Kids - xLeviathan - 2009-09-09 It's only stupid because most other presidents have done it (duh) and they're making a huge deal out of it now? I think Bush is only poked at because he was reading to school children whenever he got wind of the events of 9/11 and he just sat there and kept reading. Obama Talks to Kids - MasPan - 2009-09-09 xLeviathan Wrote:It's only stupid because most other presidents have done it (duh) and they're making a huge deal out of it now? I appreciate him doing that. Rather than confuse or scare the children, he acted calmly and continued reading. The president is a figurehead anyway - the people who needed to act were acting. Right, right, but I didn't hear many democrats talking like this when Bush was doing his education plans. Maybe some disagreed privately, but I didn't hear too many democrats getting behind Bush's education crap. Like i said, it's all different when it's the guy you voted doing it. The talking heads talk to the public, and then the public gets behind red/blue, because it's red/blue, not because of the actual policy. I am all for "education," but this country does not have "billions and billions" to spend at the moment. Obama will get the credit for his "hope and change" bull$hit, while the working taxpayers will be paying for it for the next 40 years, whether they like it or not. Bill Clinton may have gotten a blowjob in the Oval Office, but he balanced the budget, rather than greasing useless vague confidence schemes through charisma. To be honest, I on't like Hillary Clinton, but I would have preferred her to Obama, becuase one way or the other she would have ended up consulting Bill, who has a proven track record. Obama is worthless, and I hope to God he gets thrown out in 2012, or he'll have the same situation as Bush had in 2004 (almost nothing could stop him after re-election and with a cooperative Congress,) and if Obama is doing THIS now, I don't want to know what he'll do if he's given the same chances as Bush. Not only will he hopelessly fuuck up this country, he'll take the rest of the world down with it, through its ties in globalization. Bacon: Hitler killed way many more people than 6 million. The extermination of the Jews is most widely known, but he also gassed Catholics, gypsies, gays, mentally ill, political and ideological opponents etc. All told, the Nazi regime is credited with 22 million deaths, if you count those killed in the war itself. Obama Talks to Kids - Puppeteer - 2009-09-09 He's gonna get shot one of these days. If I was him; I'd be afraid to show my face in public. Obama Talks to Kids - John - 2009-09-13 I actually live a few miles away from the highschool where he spoke and I've had to re-watch the speech in a majority of my classes. I don't see why parents are so worried; all he really said was "work hard in school ??? profit." I'm not a high-strung politic or anything, so I'm just saying that his speech was simply to restate the importance of an education.

Since when did encouraging students to stay in school and get good grades become something they do in fascist or communist countries? It looks like the Republicans wouldn't give a rat's ass if the entire student population dropped out of school. To tell you the truth, the Republicans are the most worthless party on the face of the planet. They want everything to stay the same and are against almost every single thing that helps the country of the planet. Hell, even Greens and Libertarians are better than they are. Quite frankly, I hope that in 2012, the cookoo banana nut Republicans will shut up and diminish. It'd be the happiest day on the Earth if the independents took over as the 2nd major party. |
