Base STR? - MariettaRC - 2009-08-31 In almost every SS I've seen of archers posting their stats, all of them have less than 80 base STR. I have 85 base STR and I can't equip my Nisrock without my Dep Star because it gets me to 109 STR. When I scroll my Red Armis, however, I'll have about 111 STR. Would it be a good idea to reset some of my STR and put it into DEX or should I stick with 85 base so I can have an easier time getting the STR to equip a Reverse bow when I eventually make one? (That won't happen for a long time, but...) Base STR? - Zephyr - 2009-08-31 Being low str or strless isn't as vital as being dexless or lukless last time I saw some numbers, cant be sure though. Base STR? - Dual - 2009-08-31 Honestly, it doesn't matter how much base STR you have, since you can always scroll everything you have for DEX. Once you have enough STR to wear your weapon, you have your base STR. If you manage to get more STR, just reset a point out of STR into DEX. And I'd go with keeping your STR right now, since the extra attack would benefit you more than lowering your STR. Base STR? - Fumni - 2009-08-31 If you know that you want a reverse engaw, I would advise not reseting your strength. Frankly, every upgrade I go through, I'm thinking what equips I can wear to pump out the strength I need, and how much mesos will it cost this round. I'll probably be wearing a neschere for a while, and although I might (and I stress might) be able to wear a shiner at lvl 110, I really can't figure out where to get the strength for a Black Beauty, aside from buying a fully scrolled HT pendant (which isn't worth it) or raising my strength to what I need. You're doing fine, and the main focus for any archer should be getting a high attack bow or x-bow (120+ attack preferably) that you can wear (and afford). Base STR? - Lysia Voi - 2009-08-31 85 + 15(Zhelm) + 9(Lvl 100 overall with intermediate crystal) + 5(Lvl 100 shoes with intermediate crystal) + 5(Black Belt) + 5(Dep Star) = 124 With some extra equips that you'll probably have by the time you make a reverse weapon, you already have enough to equip it. That makes you 20 stats over for your nisrock, which is a lot. Resetting six points to meet your nisrock requirements really isn't going to hurt you. You're only going to end up adding one level's worth of STR for the engaw, possible a couple points more. I'd do it if I were you. Base STR? - Worthyness - 2009-08-31 I've got 90 base and blooded 50 points. I don't see a problem o_O You don't have to have the standard "low str" build to be pro. 1 dex won't matter too much in the future anyway. Base STR? - Stereo - 2009-08-31 Zephyr Wrote:Being low str or strless isn't as vital as being dexless or lukless last time I saw some numbers, cant be sure though. Dexless/low-dex comes about because dex can be scrolled for more equips than either str or luk. Fortunately bowmen can use those dex scrolls on their primary stat, so they don't have to create str-equips to get the optimal stats from each item. An exception would be top for STR/LUK, but most bowmen don't use a top/bottom set. Base STR? - Cyanne - 2009-08-31 There are advantages to having str lower, such as 30% overall strs being cheaper than 30% overall dexes and allowing you to be better prepared for future content that adds str (like the last two patches added maker, strength rings, belts, 2nd pendant, etc.). To topic starter, I would suggest keeping your str there. It should be enough to get 125 for the reverse bow, especially if you use the cheaper alternative of 30% overall strs as opposed to 30% overall dexes as mentioned above. Base STR? - ArbalistMaster - 2009-08-31 you also get more benefit from mw by keeping str low Base STR? - Sn1perJohnE - 2009-09-01 Ive got 75 base STR and still have 5 extra STR when using my Nisrock Base STR? - MariettaRC - 2009-09-01 I don't get how some of you do it, though. :f6: I mean, maybe it's because I'm honestly not that good in getting certain things, but I've had trouble keeping my equips on for a while now, at least before Maker came out anyway. I'm still not done scrolling my overall but after that, I don't know what else to upgrade. My shoes are 13 DEX and I don't know if replacing them with STR shoes is that good of an idea. The overall I'm in the process of scrolling is actually 8 STR (used a Basic crystal, I'm not exactly rich or lucky), but I'm on my way to getting a red belt sometime soon. That means 85 + 15 (helm) + 5 (Dep Star) + 4 (red belt, +1 if I get black anytime soon) + 8 (Overall after scrolling) = 118 STR. I'm so confused right now. Now it's more along the lines of... should I reset my STR to keep my Nisrock or keep it the way it is and TRY to get enough STR for a Reverse Bow? I mean, which is more worth it? Base STR? - Sn1perJohnE - 2009-09-01 Its more worth it if you plan to have a reverse eventually. Normal scrolling conventions say (for me at least) that an added 15 attack to the base attack of a weapon is a respectable scrolling. And with maker, its way easy to get that done. Base STR? - ArbalistMaster - 2009-09-01 you should also consider a str pac instead of dex one... unless you have one of those crazy atk chaosed ones Base STR? - Sightmn - 2009-11-11 Worthyness Wrote:I've got 90 base and blooded 50 points. For the shoes, you are still going to scroll them for dex, it's just that you are supposed to maker them with a basic/intermediate str and dex crystals for better results. You are forgetting the stats added by the medals. Base STR? - Christopher - 2009-11-11 I have an 87 base and I can wear an engaw with no mw. 15 str zhelm + 1 str glasses + 2 str medal + 10 str evernew + 2 str belt + 5 str MoN + 4 str nose Base STR? - Nalek - 2009-11-16 30 Base STR will have enough to wear a Blue Metus when I get back on MS with my equip upgrades. Currently have 78 str with equips. Then im working on getting rid of STR shoes and then working on equipping an engraw. fun fun fun

Different people play the game for different reasons. Some of us aren't always looking to be the strongest, and rather just to enjoy the game. OT: It's always best to keep your secondary stat as low as possible if you have the means to do so. If you don't have the sufficient funds it can be difficult, but getting stuff like an overall, shoes, or even a belt with some STR on it can make a difference since every little point adds up. Again, it depends on how long term your items are and if you plan on adjusting your STR later on for a higher level weapon. Edit: Wow this thread got necro'd :f6: |
