Training spot for WindArcher - Heliocentric - 2009-08-13 Train at the golem mini dungeon on the way to FoG. Training spot for WindArcher - Corn - 2009-08-13 CPQ o_o. Training spot for WindArcher - IsaacGS - 2009-08-13 Golems are terrible. Level 40, roids at C-1. Level 50, go to Windraiders, level 73 or so, go to Typhons. Training spot for WindArcher - Reako - 2009-08-14 Knowing from experiance, Isaac has the right of it. Max Storm Break can work wonders on blowing up roids by the dozens in a very short amount of time. By 50, you should be able to do the same to windraiders. Well i thought that you guys are crazy, but if you say it (And i trust you in 100%) so ill try it. Training spot for WindArcher - Shadow Trainer - 2009-08-14 I agree with Isaac. Just Wind Break roids left to right and finish them off in a corner, nice flat map and you'll be doing quite a nice amount of damage. The next step would be Windraiders, again just Storm Break them to an edge. If you can't find a map at Lower Ascent, make an extra effort to go to Tornado Corridor inside Crimsonwood Keep, it's the farthest door to the left of the bottom floor. What he meant when you move to Typhons at 73 or so is when you have a level 9 Arrow Rain. If you didn't touch any other skills, you'll have it at 73 but if you decided to put points into Eagle Eye, Wind Shot, and Wind Piercing like I did, you'll have it by 74. I suggest after you have maxed Arrow Rain at 77-78 then start maxing Eagle Eye for the shorter cooldown period where you're only untransformed 1/3 of the time. Afterwards start out on Wind Piercing so you can start on Himes or Newties at 87 whilst taking down the whole map (making sure Nest Golems don't 1 shot you). I made a mistake of going for Wind Shot first and that's fine and dandy if you want to show off from time to time and still train at Typhons until 94. I spent most of my time at Tornado Corridor, it's a really good map for Wind Archers. I've stayed at Typhons to 94, and it's still amazing EXP. Today i was going to try Newties, but I doubt it will be as good as it is for BMs because Wind Archers have no way to disable them from attacking, which means a lot of damage, and Nest Golems are going to be extremely dangerous. yeah I just tried sniping newties, it was only 25%/hour on 1x vs. 53%/hour at typhons on 1x. Newties suck, unless someone can explain a better way to do it. I don't know how to without hawk. I just tried taking the map at level 90 with a level 10 Wind Piercing and I didn't do so well especially when those Nest Golems one shot me. I can see it being a viable training spot in a party but you'll be limited to sniping only since the bottom has two Nest Golems that will spawn. I have yet to try harps for a long period of time but I'm sure that they can 2HKO you while Wind Piercing can make quick work of them. Skeles are just way overpowered and unless someone HP washed their Cygnus (which IMO isn't worth it) to an extent of breaking 3700-3900 HP before 120 then I guess it'll be viable once you have Hurricane. TT isn't even going to be in the discussion as those monsters are just beasts unless you're a BM/Marksman 150+. I wonder if we're gonna be stuck on Typhons until 120? That'll be such a shame using Arrow Rain from 73 all the way to 120 and making Wind Shot, Wind Piercing, and Hurricane useless. The problem with Crossroads is that the spawn runs out really quickly if you are doing any kind of decent damage, especially with a mob attack. Yeah that's why he said to start out to get the feel of the attack range of the Windraiders as the range of Storm Break is slightly longer than the range of WR attacks. But I guess you could just as easily learn to figure out their range training in Lower Acent/Tornado Corridor with a faster spawn. And you don't get harassed by random trees spawning next to you and blocking your attacks. And WRs attack so slowly that you can just walk away from them and not get hit. Training spot for WindArcher - MiSSHaku - 2009-08-15 How much damage were you doing to Typhons when you started? I decided to go try it but I figured that since it took so long to kill one Windraiders would still be better. Yeah it's gonna be busy but keep in mind they give 4x as much exp as windraiders so if it takes twice as long to kill, it's still better exp. Is Typhons something that an average lvl 74 player would or could really do? Or is this more directed towards pros with godly equips, lightning reflexes and flawless internet who don't mind spending 2M/hour on pots? After all, these are level 100 mobby monsters, and arrow rain doesn't seem all that awesome to me so far. I ask because when training my AM, highly recommended training maps often turned out to be either death traps (WS, Kents) or else I'd get a third or quarter of the exp/hour that others claimed to get (Gryphons, Cellions). |
