Lpq/cpq/efpq mule brawler - Cyanne - 2009-06-16 What would be the ideal skill distribution for a brawler capped at level 50? Take note of the limited SP to work with and emphasis on the short term. My current skills are: 20 nimble body 20 straight 20 somersault kick 1 double shot 19 knuckle mastery 6 knuckle booster 1 corkscrew punch 1 backspin bIow 1 point saved And yes I have 0 hp increase. Lpq/cpq/efpq mule brawler - DrRusty - 2009-06-16 corkscrew + mastery + a few booster. The rest is up to you really. In CPQ all a brawler really needs to do is spam fully charged corkscrews -> sommersault on mobs and flash fist for rombots and you're golden. Lpq/cpq/efpq mule brawler - Takebacker - 2009-06-16 Go with max CSB, though HP increase would have been a good idea. Less pots used, more time killing, less risk of death, etc. Lpq/cpq/efpq mule brawler - Cyanne - 2009-06-16 Okay, looks like I'm going with maxed corkscrew, which would leave me at 15 SP left. Would double uppercut be useful for like alishar or poison golem? Is backspin actually useful without stun mastery? Is level 1 oak barrel even remotely useful for getting out of tight spots? DU isn't better than spamming FF until 17+ Backspin is meh. The extra damage couldn't hurt. Oak barrel frankly sucks if it isn't maxed. Same thing with MP recovery. However, oak maxed is extremely helpful for many many situations. Lpq/cpq/efpq mule brawler - Loose - 2009-06-16 Takebacker Wrote:Oak barrel frankly sucks if it isn't maxed. This is a lie. Max Screw, Backspin is good enough at level 1, it stuns and has the same range on all levels. Lpq/cpq/efpq mule brawler - Takebacker - 2009-06-16 Loose Wrote:This is a lie. I never used it below level 7ish. 3x% chance of failure? Breaks too often. Lpq/cpq/efpq mule brawler - Arrg - 2009-06-16 You also spam corkscrew a lot on ellin pq. I'd say get 1 double upper just for stunning in the first few stages. You use a lot of hp pots at the boss due to poison and being a close range character, as well as eyedrops and holy water. Lpq/cpq/efpq mule brawler - Jormungandr - 2009-06-17 The best thing for a brawler there is CSB and ssk. Nothing else is even worth getting, maybe backspin, but it's damage sucks in comparison to csb, and by the time the delay wears off from csb so you can use backspin, you can have a couple ssks and do csb again already, so there's basically nothing to do except csb and ssk. You can get more time for booster if you want, I found 1min to be a pain. Lpq/cpq/efpq mule brawler - Dusk - 2009-06-17 I honestly thought Backspin Blow was a lot better than CSB in mobs You have to charge up CSB to make it do (good) damage. Might as well just spam SSK. Might as well just spam SSK." In a way, isn't it also better to spam SSK than to use backspin? CSB gives a lot more invincibility time than backspin does (which is arguably better than backspin's stun, in second job). CSB's (not too long either) charge time can be neglected by charging and using it while travelling between mobs. CSB can sometimes ohko mobs? CSB has greater range than backspin blow. CSB can act like a CB's assaulter. CSB is usable in the air. Backspin blow requires you to turn around, while CSB doesn't. That's why CSB is > backspin blow
Lpq/cpq/efpq mule brawler - shouri - 2009-06-17 ShadyPriest Wrote:"You have to charge up CSB to make it do (good) damage. Might as well just spam SSK." It also heavily depends on your gear. My maxed CSBs did around 5k, so that and 1 spin kick killed rombots. So I usually had the other team mass summon rombots :3. 70k exp from rombots and 30k exp from winning <3 Anyways If you can pull that off, then CSB is definitely better than just spamming spin kick. Charging CSB should always be done in between mobs anyways. the leftovers after you spin kick the few things near you to death should outside your spin kick range thus start charging and let loose all over again. Also, go with DU. It'll help against lone enemies. At lvl 15 its 240% damage. Sounds like it'll be rather nice to take out any lone enemies with... except for rombots of course. Can't quite OHKO those unless you're overly ridiculous with gear. You'd need 1250 to be in your normal damage range with max DU for that (accounting for the defense). Or with lvl 15 DU you'd need at least 1300. So yeah long story short... DU. It'll help clear out any lone monsters. Also, if you use CSB well it's ridiculously good in the CPQ ![]() (For any non believers, my brawler with such a build got 1600+ points on his own with maxed out rombots in room 3/4. good times, good times )

But anyways, enough about that. Lpq/cpq/efpq mule brawler - Dusk - 2009-06-17 ShadyPriest Wrote:"You have to charge up CSB to make it do (good) damage. Might as well just spam SSK." I dunno why people whine about turning around to use a skill. I have to turn around to recoil forward, but that takes no effort and comes naturally. Assuming we're talking about second job only, CSB's invincibility time doesn't really make a difference at all. The only real difference is the range. Backspin does the job of pushing a mob where you want and doesn't need to be charged. The real damage still comes from SSK. I haven't played a Brawler past second job, but that's just how it felt to me. Lpq/cpq/efpq mule brawler - Cyanne - 2009-06-17 So uh, the 15 points'll go into double uppercut I guess? |
