Maple Story EXE gone! - Sn1perJohnE - 2009-05-25

OK then @_@ so I had closed maple and went out to eat, and my laptop was put into sleep mode, but when i got back and went to open maple, the icon on the desktop was made into the un-iconed program icon, and when i went to go find the regular exe, it was completely deleted from the Maple story folder @_@

anyone else have this happen?

EDIT: OK new problem, every reinstall i do the maplestory.exe file is automatically deleted and not in the folder. Ive never had a problem like this X_X both versions of the installer gave me this problem.

FINAL EDIT: KK problem solved, COMODO had an update and i guess when maple closed it decided that maplestory.exe along with 2 other files were bad and deleted them.

Solution, add the nexon folder into the exclusions folder of the antivirus section of COMODO.

Stuff like HackShield and GameGuard tend to trip up anti-virus and rootkit detectors =P

My antivirus had a similar problem. Sophos updated and found out Maplestory looked kinda similar to a virus, so it terminated it. When we redownloaded it, it wouldn't work unless you turned off Sophos. I can't find the exceptions folder in Sophos, so yeah.

Still, you can't blame Sophos.

Possibly because MS is a different, more subtle form of a virus...
