So, I don't know if this will be considered "which character should I choose," because it's really more about economy and training than "I like this class," and "I want power."
Basically, I have a crossbowman, and a cleric, and I like them both quite a bit. My original plan was to just get my cleric to level 120, and then spam Genesis so that I could easily level my xbow, and even sell leech to fund him.
But yesterday, I actually started him (figured I should take advantage of the EXPlosion event while I could,) and I'm kind of doubting the cleric plan. I have 32 mill on me right now that I was going to use to buy my cleric a Z-helm, but now I'm wondering if I should just worry about my cleric later, and focus on getting my marksman to level 120 first, and using my cleric as backup. I've heard horror stories about ultimate spamming, and I'm pretty sure that past 4th job I'm going to lose interest in bishop, and just use it for money. Sad, but true.
Anyways, what are your thoughts? A few people have been telling me that I should get the funds so that my crossbowman is really good, but others urge me to focus on the account that I'll enjoy playing more, even if it means sacrificing the power. I'm kind of leaning towards the second option, but I don't like to make uneducated decisions. Any input as to what's the more clever option would be greatly appreciated. :]
Oh, and if it matters... The 32m will go towards a Z-helm on my cleric, and probably stuff like an 7-8 attack glove and stuff along those lines on my crossbowman. Just depends on which I choose. He only has a 4att/2dex glove right now, which is miserable. xD

Clerics can level with minimal pot costs. Using heal and no MG you can actually go for levels without having to use a HP or MP pot. This combined with drops/mesos lead to building decent mesos for 3rd job and your xbowman.
Even without leech, priests can stil level fast with training options like himes with a DK or early 4th job DrK. Once you get to 4th you can spend some time selling leech at places like harps. The drops you get there will also build up giving you ample funds for your xboxman.

I've never had trouble getting money when I needed it, having a high level Priest is not the only way. I'd play the one you want to play more.
