Maple Warrior Vs. Super Transform - Mark - 2009-05-12
Okay all you number crunching Southperrians, I need to know something. Which would benefit my overall damage more? Maxed S.Transform or MW 20?
My build at the moment goes a little something like this:
Level 150
21 Dragon Strike
30 Barrage
29 Demolition
11 Speed Infusion
1 S.Transform
1 Time Leap
0 Maple Warrior
Obviously at level 151 I'll max out Demo with 2 points left over, but then what? MW 20 would be better for solo training/bossing plus MW 30 is coming. Then again maxed S.Transform will help me get in more Demos while sacrificing a 10% overall stat boost. Halp.

If you're going to have Demo, you're going to need Super Transformation for it to be the least bit reliable. I in fact maxed ST before Demolition since the recharge time seemed so significant. MW would really only help if it would minimize the amount of hits it takes to kill a monster. If it'll just give you nothing more than bigger numbers, then that's another reason to go with ST.

I'd go for the ST, especially considering other people can give you MW20, particularly mages you may be training with. More ST + Time Leap = double the bang for your buck, getting twice as much time out of each point.

- Demolition vs Barrage Combo => Demolition is 25% stronger
Demolition can be used 50% of the time, so damage gain is 25% / 2 = 12.5% over time.
- Maple Warrior lvl20 vs No Maple Warrior => MW20 adds 10% to your damage
- Maple Warrior lvl30 vs No Maple Warrior => MW30 adds 15% to your damage
Only lvl30 Maple Warrior would be stronger + Barrage Combo then Demolition, but then again, don't expect MW30 so soon, and Super Transform (max) is only 19 more SP's...
I would max Super Transform... but then again... I would have maxed Super Transform at lvl 127... and Demolition at lvl 140...

I would probably do MW, unless i train with someone who has it already. Level 1 ST isn't so bad for it's time though, even though you probably don't use it for training. I know i won't.

wow what a homo, I wasted a whole 2% that could've been gained on 4x telling you the route you should take in party chat.
Max Transform. You're going to be a half-assed Bucc when in S.Transform if you don't. You're level 150; from here on out you're going to be PARTYING WITH OTHER PEOPLE. Whether it be me, or Manda, or whoever, I cannot possibly imagine you training by yourself. That being said, you'll always be partying with someone 14x or 15x, or higher, and almost all classes nowadays (Buccs aside) have a level 19/20 MW by 140~150. Sure, it's nice to have your own MW, but think about it in the long run; when this event is over you'll be leveling pretty slowly. You'll want to boss, plantain around with the Bucc you've leveled over 12 times, etc. Are you going to have more fun casting that MW that you foolishly added 19 points into (You'll probably even add 20 like you did on your MM), or do you want to f(uck some bosses up with that Demo.
tl;dr, you're going to be partying with people that have MW anyways, and regardless of that, the damage output you'll get from Demo+Maxed STF exceeds that of the boost that comes from MW20. If that's not enough, think of the MW30 that's over the horizon. We'll get it eventually, and it'll only take a few months for it to be in every level 15x/16x's skillbook. Everyone's gonna have better MW than you and you'll be like man oh man, why'd I put all of those points in to MW.
