Are there areas in game where creatures do not drop monster book cards?
I've been training on Meerkats near Ariant for about 4 levels now & have not seen a single drop.

try to double click the meerkat. if it has a monster book entry, the book will show up

Singapore, Mushroom Shrine, Masteria and Amoria monsters do not drop cards.

I got a Cactus card, so there are monsters in that area that do, but I dunno about Meerkats. xP

Monsters exclusive to those areas do not drop cards. You can go hunt Orange Mushrooms at Mushroom shrine and get their card, or Slimes in Amoria or Firebombs in NLC, but you'll never get a card from say, Wolf Spider or Anego.

I have pretty bad luck with cards as well...
Spent 2 days at HHG and got no orange mushie card x_x
It's just luck, I think...
