Is there an accuracy stat? Or is it just like, you're on Kings so you WILL miss a ton? I keep getting owned by bosses by missing and getting countered.

Original General Dungeon Fighter Thread - Holypie - 2009-11-22

It even says in the top right(?) corner of your screen on the dungeon selection page when you crank up the difficulty. You can add to Hit Rate through skills and equipment though.

Skills, man. SKILLS. Fun and frustrating at the same time. The more I play and the more I see in videos, the more I don't know about Florae Collider. I'm heavily leaning towards maxing Death Dust now, since I've come to realize how much I rely on it.

 Spoiler

Only change in my 40 (actual, current) build is 5 Acid Rain instead of 6. Thankfully I hadn't raised it yet. So the 40 build in that pic represents my complete build in game at the moment.

Final build is still up in the air. It's so hard to know what to do about Florae Collider without being able to test it myself. I've pretty much given up wanting to max it now, but I still don't know if I should get it to level 1 just to have. Is it worth raising Broomspin two more levels? Is it even worth having for dungeons AT ALL? AHH. I think I might do it... It seems worth giving up a little Manteau (even though I love it so much) for a new ability.

I had to think about Mana Shield, too. Since I never used it any dungeon, I didn't think I'd need it past 1. However, I DO use it PvP, and I realize how helpful it is there. Now I've been leaning towards maxing it... I figure I might need it for high level dungeons anyway? Regardless, 100 points saved to raise it to 10 once I can. I don't want to gimp myself in PvP/later dungeons if it really is amazing at max.

I still plan on using 50 points to get level 1 awakening attack. Definitely confirmed now that I won't be wasting points leveling the awakening passive.

Yes, I'll probably work Quick Rebound in eventually. But as of now, I don't care about it. Don't we get it for free later anyway? If I want it sooner, it's not hard to find room.

I just want to playtest Collider. ARGH. Or like, SOLID insight into its usefulness. Luckily my play style led me to create a build that works great for PvP, so I don't really have to make many adjustments for that besides raising Mana Shield and Death Dust. Soloing dungeons is still a big part of my DFO life, though. That's why Collider is bothering the heck out of me.

Had to get that off my chest.

From what I've seen, it'd have very limited use in PvP, since it'd be relatively simple to avoid it if it takes too long to cast and to use a punishing counterattack from a safe distance. For instance, a Launcher could sit safely away and charge a laser rifle. In PvE, it may be a solid damage move for single targets (which Witches are decidedly lacking in). Not sure though. To my understanding a failed cast won't even attack anything, unless I'm mistaken. I dunno, not too great with Witch skills, but it seems helpful to get something focused on single targets to cover that weakness, though Drill does that and then some (omg sleeper drill lasts forever).

Original General Dungeon Fighter Thread - FelixTM - 2009-11-23

I don't want Collider for PvP, though I might use it sometimes. Casting speed is almost never an issue for me since I am a bizarre fusion PvP/cast Witch. I'm not lacking in strong single target moves, actually. In dungeons and PvP, I can do massive single damage with Swatter, Chain Florae (EMM) and Dust'd broom attacks (in fact, several people have been shocked and commented on "how hard I hit" in PvP). I am considering Collider because I want more mob power (since I do not have Lava or Furnace).

Failure casts just do less damage (or lack bonus effects).

Been hit with Death Dust or Swatter much?

Only BMs can raise Mana Shield past 5, Kyle.

Only for now.

Original General Dungeon Fighter Thread - MasPan - 2009-11-23

My bad, was commenting mostly on PvE builds, and earlier posts where you mentioned having difficulty killing Isadora when she stopped summoning. I keep forgetting you're different. Collider doesn't really seem like a great mob attack, but I've only seen it briefly in videos.

Original General Dungeon Fighter Thread - FelixTM - 2009-11-23

Bosses like Isadora and Ryku are special cases, though. I may have strong single target moves, but (besides Dust'd broom) their cooldowns (I can't use them rapidly) make it hard to beat out bosses that can a) magically make Chain Florae miss when it hits them head on and b) regen HP at ridiculous speeds.

I was a worse player back when I lost to Isadora that one time, too. I wouldn't have lost if I focused on Dusting and juggling her more (something I never really did back then). Ryku, however... He is everything terrible in a boss. He's basically a big SCREW YOU to solo Witches.

@ Mark, below

It'll be a nice chunk, but I doubt all the way. Actually, looking at all those, who knows... Why did you save all of them until 39? Or HOW, rather. lol What about the Shallow Keep quests?

It won't get you more than 20% of the way. Shallow Keep questline is another 10 or 20%. A full FP bar of Frozenheart grinding will only net you 4.5m exp or so, and that's the most efficient exp/fp you can get, so take that into consideration when figuring out leveling time. Took me 3 days, with only the last one being a Frozenheart grind (and only for half an FP bar).

I'll help with the Bwanga, Ryku, and Ridge stuff. Ain't goin near Frozenheart for a long while now that I'm 40, I hate it that much.

You're killin' me, Smalls.

I just want to be level 40 already. Gosh.

Didn't see this until now. I was just getting my ass kicked by all of the quests and I hate partying with randoms so I just ended up farming all the time.

I know right? Lv 40 skills feel good. I loved dropping that bomb on the Ranger. Who needs grenade when you've got a nuke?

Wow, look what I found:

When Nexon imported DungeonFighterOnline to the Americas, they upped the EXP requirements for levels by THREE TIMES the amount required in the Korean version. Not that this changes the difficulty all that much, but it does make for a LOT of grinding to level up. So while you'd only be at level 20 on the American version, someone on the Korean version would be close to level 35.

Example: Exp requirement jump lv 38 and lv 39
Lv 38-39 is roughly 7.5m exp
Lv 39-40 is roughly 11.1m

That's a 3.6m or near 50% jump.

The un-altered requirement from 40-41? 7m.

LadyOfArad Wrote:Softening the Grind

MMOs have a tough job maintaining the delicate balance between “challenging enough to be fun” and “painful.” That’s why the High Council has been paying close attention to the experience point curve and the amount of time it takes for players to get from level 1 to level 40. After analyzing a ton of player data and reading through your forum feedback we’ve come to the conclusion that, yes, the experience point curve in DFO is a bit sharp and there are some segments of the 1 to 40 climb that are worse than others. That’s why we’re currently in the process of smoothing the curve in general and addressing the particularly rough sections.

Softening the experience curve will not only help you get one character to 40 faster, it’ll also free up time to experiment with new characters and alternate subclasses. One of the things we’re really proud of in Dungeon Fighter Online is the way the game brings depth and strategy to a kind of classic arcade gameplay. We want players to experience the game in different ways. If you’re a Gunner and you really enjoy your role as a ranged damage-dealer, why not try getting up close and personal as a Fighter? You might find that melee combat give you a whole new way to enjoy DFO!

Anyone who rages over this should just kill themselves. It's widely known, and sadly a LOT have raged over it. Like Dyxanije posted, Nexon's even lowering it some already because of all the pathetic, terrible players. The exp curve in DFO is perfect (or could be higher yet). If it was any lower, it'd be too easy to reach 40.

Sad. If you want it easy, go play DnF or something. Don't even have to try there.

You mean normal, right? because DFO exp curve is just 3 times bigger >_>;
