Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - JoeTang - 2015-11-08 I read somewhere that unlocking the stash upgrade from seasons unlocks it immediately in non-seasons as well, so hooray! Here's a preview of a lot of the items: https://www.reddit.com/r/Diablo/comments/3rug1z/patch_24_new_items_bonuses_pics/ There's also changes to Raekor's not listed here (but it's somewhere), and Inna's which no one seems to know. I believe there were minor changes to other sets as well, rather than redesigns which were the focus here. Looking forward to a lot of these though. No-set set best set? It will be equal to other sets when you get X ancients, but once you get X+1, it becomes best set, and if you're at X-1 why live? My plans: Barbarian: I haven't really played a Barbarian since 2.0, and Might of the Earth looks pretty fun. The way the set is built though, you have to end up dropping certain supported skills to fit things. Earthquake, Avalanche, Leap, Ground Stomp, War Cry, Threatening Shout, Boulder Toss, a generator. Pick 6 =[ Crusader: Akkhan's buff is okay, but a flat damage increase is meh. I was never that big of a fan of the options for Akkhan's though, but that may partially have been because of how bad the damage was. There's apparently a weapon that gives two runes for AC. Having it on a weapon is kinda...eh... I hope they added something for Roland's to synergize with, because it's really not up there. Seeker of the Light gets the new Hammer Jammers, which is decent and makes Falling Sword useful to proc it with. I'm looking forward to trying Invoker's, but there's not many skills that make use of Thorns which is a shame now. I'm still hoping there will be a healing buff for Crusaders so they can compete with Monks for that slot. Currently, none of their healing skills scale with anything except character level. It's really pineappleing awful that their dedicated healing skill is a flat 32185 HP/s for 10s with a cooldown of 30s. Not sure what their new 2-piece flail+shield is about, especially since Swiftmount exists but... faster horses is always great. Demon Hunter: Demon Hunters get a bunch of different melee options that I'd like to try. There's a Chakram Sword now, which may make it an interesting AOE option, but the Fan of Knives dagger, seems really powerful. Impale Dagger also seems important for upkeep. Marauder's has a ridiculous buff though, and I can't imagine how they justified 11x -> 36x plus support for Vengeance. Apparently, Manticore is going to be the Cluster Arrow weapon. I just hope it's more than just a big +Skill%. There's also a belt for toughness/companion, and other complementary items too. Might try a no-set set Rapid Fire build if I can get enough pieces, but if Wojahnni's still sucks, then there's no point. Monk: Not too sure about what Sunwuko's has to offer. Sweeping Wind is so easy to get stacks for, I'm not sure if this is meaningful. Maybe Inna's will be more interesting. Witch Doctor: Oh god, no-set set Carnevil looks so good. Zunimassa's is pomegranate in comparison. With the current stats for LoN, just having one ancient piece tops Zunimassa's + F&R. I could even wear CoE in cube, or one of the pet rings. Don't need to use Grasp of the Dead, except for the fact that any spender will be a strong option anyways. This just reminds me that I destroyed an Ancient Swampland Wader earlier last week =[ Spirit Barrage dagger seems... odd. Gives 2 runes? Two of the remaining runes don't even function the same, how will this work... And no set uses Spirit Barrage =[ no-set set best set? Locust Mojo is a shame since it can't be used with the speed build, but I guess it's a good buff to Jade and Arachyr's. Wizard: Channeling no-set set! Firebird's! Maybe Delsere's will be cool again? That belt sounds like fun, but if I use it with Electrocute, will I get double the AP? Sounds like a really good way to top up and then use Star Pact if it does. The new Energy Twister weapon looks like it might be okay too. Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - hadriel - 2015-11-08 I use Focus and Restraint on my Wizard for Disintegrate. With Arcane Dynamo it's good enough for mid/late-30 Rifts, I've not attempted higher yet. I don't have a wonderful weapon yet. I need more Ancient legendaries, or just better equipment overall. "P4_ItemPassive_Unique_Ring_066: Your Arcane Torrent, Disintegrate, and Ray of Frost also cast your other damaging Arcane Power Spenders every second." There's also something for a double-explosion for Arcane Orb... although to be honest I cannot see the point of having a second Arcane spender when I already put all of my %skill into Disintegrate, unless this thing also casts Slow Time...... Hadriel Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - TugboatWilly - 2015-11-10 Looks like patch 2.4 will be all about channeling skills. Shame heal and static charge monk were nerfed. Might go with Crusader this upcoming season with all the changes.
Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - JoeTang - 2015-11-10 It's a big shame that Heal Monks were nerfed so hard, when they really should have just designed some support skills for other classes to compete with it. Like the Crusader could definitely have some redesign across a few skills for healing capabilities. Static Charge makes sense since it interacts with other characters like that, and I don't see it being possible to add that interaction for other characters without making a combination of the two be the best thing since sliced bread. Wizard Shields got some changes. Everything appears to be likely a buff, except for Dominance which is a nerf unless you have over 800k HP... Arcane Orb exploding twice... So... Adding a new item to do a thing it used to do when it was still underpowered. I guess that's ok... Still not really useable with Scorch though =[ Some nice Channeling items, but it might be a new set waiting for 2.5... It could also be designed around no-set set though... But then it's just an orange set =S Every time I think about Arcane Torrent, I'm reminded of Cascade + Scorch which was so beautiful, so this effect sounds beautiful too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZxvoYVd_mBI Vengeance being added to both UE and Marauder's is weird. I already use Vengeance in my speed UE build since it's just easier to ORotZ for consistency, but this will definitely take a pick over CoE now. The Heaven's Fury items seem to only work well with Fires of Heaven and Fate of the Fell. I really hope they make it so you can cast more than one Heaven's Fury at once. There seems to be two new Blessed Shield items, but I doubt it'll be strong enough still, just like Blessed Hammers ended up being. Manajuma's Way 2 pieces: Speed as a chicken is increased by an additional 400% (up from 200%). The only problem I see with the "Channeling" legendaries is standing still is still a bad thing and generally gets you murdered. Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - Dark Link - 2015-11-14 Current PTR discussion seems to suggest "Thorns Sader" and "FB Channeling Wiz" will be the strongest builds in 2.4 by a large margin. Frankly I'd never expect Thorns, of all things, to be one of the strongest builds in the entire game. Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - hadriel - 2015-11-15 The FB elite burning damage bonus will probably be nerfed fairly hard. It is a little... strong. DMO's gets a buff to 2000%, and a new legendary or set bonus that gives damage reduction inside Slow Time? Still hoping for DMO6 to affect Slow Time's damage. It's just so negligible and only useful for Del'Rasha's. Some other buffs to a few shielding skills, and a new legendary that buffs shields, might be okay. They didn't buff Dominance though =[ Some small victories over on the Crusader side too.
