Notice how you can choose to pay with either the Smash coins or those 3ds coins you earn from the step counter.

Yeah.... I think Evolite's comment was more along the lines of... "but we can't pull that off in the wii u version, so will we have any type of alternate option there?"

Probably not, but if Brawl is any indication I don't think coins will be too terribly hard to come by anyway.

The "Game and Watch" level for Smash 4 it seems.

Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS Discussion - Takebacker - 2014-08-08

Oh man. I suppose regardless of G&W returning the amount of "I told you so!" is going to be astronomical.

Sakurai Wrote:'Hello! I'm Samus, the intergalactic bounty hunter!' 'And I am Meta Knight, joining the battle!!'

Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS Discussion - Zerard - 2014-08-11

Are we hinting at something, Sakurai?

Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS Discussion - MariettaRC - 2014-08-11

"Complaining about your favorite characters not making it into the Smash roster? Too bad, make Miis out of them."

Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS Discussion - Takebacker - 2014-08-11

And all the meta knight fans shed a large tear for their fallen hero that day

Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS Discussion - Lozmaster - 2014-08-11

There's no way metaknight is being cut. Massively nerfed, yeah probably, but not cut.

Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS Discussion - Zerard - 2014-08-11

It wouldn't make much sense to have a mask for Samus, who is in game, and Meta Knight, who supposedly wouldn't be in game.

Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS Discussion - Takebacker - 2014-08-11

Metaknight is the epitome of the "just another swordsman" argument we've seen sakurai use for his justification of fighters. Even wario, who was supposedly leaked recently, has more value in his character model than metaknight does because of his aerial mobility combined with high weight and the waft mechanic which is unique compared to other fighters we know of. All of the value metaknight would have are either aspects that are a result of the brawl environment/moveset (insane recovery, insane offense, relatively high skill cap compared to other characters), or a result of his overpowered stats which would obviously be nerfed and would then not be that valuable.

Either way this is why he is known as trollahiro sikeurai.

Zerard; It makes perfect sense. The entire point of miis is to recreate characters and people who aren't in the game as miis. How am i going to recreate characters as miis if i don't have that characters' costumes and whatnot? Clothes are easier to get away with but character specific references are impossible to work around if sakurai doesn't include them.

Then why would he make a hat of a character already in game if that was the case. There's no need to recreate a character who is in the game already.

Because

A) You're assuming he's going to be in the game.

and

B) It clearly isn't the same "hat" that metaknight actually uses. The slit for the eyes is clearly bigger and not as wide so you know it's custom made specifically for miis.

(it's a mask, but miis probably won't have a mask option and it'll just be lumped in with hats. at least we know there will be extra categories within the given attire categories of the miis)

Samus is a confirmed character.

MK can still be in the game and people will still want to play miis with a MK mask. Samus can still be in the game and people will still want to play miis with a samus suit.

What people are supposed to be asking with this pic is what other costumes will miis get, not whether characters are deconfirmed or not. And now we see the true troll potential of sakurai.

Before this goes any further, I want to say that the screenshot alone confirms nothing. I would like to believe that it is a hint, but not outright 'look at this, it tells the future'.

I just don't see the point of making a character who's already in game. It's like making Siegfried from Soulcalibur as a custom character in Soulcalibur.
