I was looking up a good solo (that wasn't LvL 50....) so I can see the animations for his attacks and came across this gem just uploaded.

He's lvl 50 but adjusted his m.atk so that his damage output is roughly the same as a lvl 32 with average gear. However, he also has 6k crit in the vids.

Nowhere close to most skilled, especially considering they died 2 times during the boss, and they WOULD HAVE died 3 times BEFORE the boss if not for them using their own potions and getting lucky with recovery drops. Heck, they lost almost 50% of their HP in the very first part of the Nest. Their 3rd death would've been at the Ogre guards.

I don't see anything wrong with using your own pots since they have a long cooldown. If you're using NX pots.... then ya that's pretty damn lame

Using any of your own potions is basically taboo in Dragon Nest.
The only time it's acceptable is if you're still below Lv10 and you're completely new to the game to be perfectly honest. Basically, running dungeons is always about surviving on as little as possible, otherwise there's no point. And again, remember that that player would've died 5 times during that Nest, with a respawn limit of 3. They beat it by luck, not skill.

and I disagree with not using pots in d nest. They don't heal for much and their CD is long.

He's practising to do Hell with no deaths as a SM, but he's getting there. Still good to look at if you're melee, especially if you're a warrior.

No idea where the user is from, but they're playing cDN so there might be extra lag as well. You should see how he does the stage before the 2 ogres. He doesn't get hit that much. The only thing I went wtp at was when Cerb roared and he didn't tumble over ― like wearing earplugs in MonHan. (´・ω・｀

No, for reasons I already pointed out.
They were taking insane amounts of damage from the get-go; I wouldn't call that playing phenomenally. They're lucky they even made it to Cerberus, like I said, they would've died at least 4~5 times during that run with how they were being slapped around constantly.

And most players would disagree with your disagreeing. You could watch hundreds of different Dragon Nest videos and you'll see that almost nobody uses their own potions. Ask everyone in-game and vast majority will tell you they don't use their own potions and/or that it's nub.

and he didn't take that much damage... the mobs before cerberus have a ton of super armor so he's going to take damage regardless being melee.

Can't help you out with SP allocation until then. Inquisitors have the potential to have more DPS but less support while Saints still do a fair amount of damage with huge support.
The game is lonely if you don't play with friends or make friends. :<

every +9 in the market I could find for a crafted LvL 32 was at least 4.5. All of the +10s were 6k+. Crossbow is always the cheapest so the price was about where it should have been.
I just hate using crossbows lol. I think I'll hold onto the crossbow and use it for bossing and use the bow for everything else.
question - are there any good sites I can go to that will show which plates are good for each class? I need to know if I should toss these skill plates or not

IMO HP potions are portable priests without the buffing and relics and stuff. Just heal aura for yourself. It's nice when you want to top off your HP before a nest boss :V.

Tried cerebus. Died 3 times on first run, not at all on second (both Abyss). Learned that Ignite and Shatter are the two worst possible skills an Ele can have. Chilling Mist is AMAZING though. Would love to have an SP reset
Oh, and where do average onyxs come from? I have a bunch of nice quality plates I want to make, but don't have any.
And buying them is out of the question, I have like 40 gold.

The only plates worth more than the average onyx used to make them are the ones you see in the market for like $200+ gold. Anything less and it's not worth the crystals used to make them. Usually you're only going to try and make stuff like brutal, windswept, destructive, fierce, life, health, and stuff like that.
Average crystals only drop in abyss modes (fking stupid imo) or you can get medium waters from doing dailies to craft them.
