Ask a Pirate Thread - Kitteh - 2010-04-28 Is it me, or do monsters slide around a lot more after they're frozen when there's someone else in map? Whenever I train with another person, mobs seem to be as if they're on ice skates and tend to slide right into me after I use splitter, as if they were still continuing on their pre-frozen path. When I'm solo, though, they seem to stay put. Is this a common occurrence for most iced mobs? Ask a Pirate Thread - KaidaTan - 2010-04-28 Yup, and it has been since Ice Mages trained at Death Teddies in '06. It mostly has to do with monster positions being client sided, and your client is fighting with the other guy's client about the position and status of the monster. Ask a Pirate Thread - Stereo - 2010-04-28 One thing that can help is knockback - doing KB damage automatically transfers ownership of the monster to you and it'll behave better frozen. I don't know if splitter will do that much damage though... Ask a Pirate Thread - KaidaTan - 2010-04-28 Stereo Wrote:One thing that can help is knockback - doing KB damage automatically transfers ownership of the monster to you and it'll behave better frozen.Eh, not for a long time. I can only recently (since late 17x or so) KB skeles 100% of the time with it, but I don't even freeze skeles anymore. I still only KB my normal training monster, Oblivion Monk Trainees, like half of the time. I'd say a good level of Elemental Boost would help you KB whatever you're training on whenever you get it. But the extra 30% from the skill updates will help. Ask a Pirate Thread - Daddy20 - 2010-04-28 Yeah Eboost will help you get rid of the sliding issue. My Eboost is lvl 21 and it does roughly 20-30k so it can kb pretty much everything, which means nothing slides anymore. Quite an useful skill. Ask a Pirate Thread - fulldraw - 2010-05-02 Does anyone know what kind of clean damage range a corsair has to have to be able to consistently knock back paps 2nd form? My guess is when you hit as low as 10k (that + bullseye) but what I'm wondering is if sairs could go any sooner? Ask a Pirate Thread - Dusk - 2010-05-02 fulldraw Wrote:Does anyone know what kind of clean damage range a corsair has to have to be able to consistently knock back paps 2nd form? Nope, that's about right. Except the KB is 12k. Just wait til level 13x. Ask a Pirate Thread - KaidaTan - 2010-05-02 I couldn't do it until I maxed Bullseye at late 14x. That was a while ago, but it's pretty dangerous to fight him if you can't KB consistently. You can use my Calculator to see what your min damage is on him. Ask a Pirate Thread - Blup - 2010-05-09 I'm kinda stuck. Training my corsair is really rough, since I cant find good places to train in without help. The only place I find trainable is O2, and that's with someone with a HS mule and another person, both clearing top and bottom platforms (with me taking middle, less spawning platform.) I'm at lvl 126, lvl 18 cannon, 1 ele boost, 1 torp, 1 battleship. I cant really train at bottom newties because it seems like they glitch and dont have the attack delay upon spawn sometimes, which causes me to take a hit and throws me off balance. I cant train at skeles because I can't keep up killing a platform, and peak is really really horrible exp. Should I try to get up to O1 and try to solo there? (currently at R3) If anyone could tell me about a training place I've been missing\show me a different (or the right) way to train @ Skeles\Newts, It would be lovely. Also, two questions about the balance patch: 1)Is the formula for the new battleship HP known yet? 2)Does Burst Fire get a boost too? because if it doesn't, isn't Rapid Fire becoming better at lvl 1? (Burst fire as it is is approx 55k%\min, when the new Rapid Fire is 132%*500=approx 60k%\min) Ask a Pirate Thread - KaidaTan - 2010-05-09 Blup Wrote:I cant really train at bottom newties because it seems like they glitch and dont have the attack delay upon spawn sometimes, which causes me to take a hit and throws me off balance. That's not really a glitch, it's just the way servers and monster aggro works. Basically, when you're the only one in the map, monsters will react more quickly to you. Since Newties are auto-aggro, this makes it seem like they're attacking you right as they spawn. An easy way to fix this is just to put a mule in the map, or train in a map where someone is afking. Any mule will do, you just need to have *someone* in the map with you to mess up the Newtie's targeting system. Blup Wrote:Also, two questions about the balance patch:1) No. 2) No, and yes. The problem is that it still attacks me instantly WITH a mule! (I'm standing at bottom right of the map) Ask a Pirate Thread - fulldraw - 2010-05-12 I've noticed that homing/bulls eye gives a knock back animation to just about everything but does it actually knock it back? I tried testing it but it exceeds the kb rate of most monsters already... If it did, things like paps 2nd body would actually be pretty easy to solo no? Ask a Pirate Thread - KaidaTan - 2010-05-12 Blup Wrote:I KNOW about the mule method, I've trained there for 30 lvls. The problem is that it still attacks me instantly WITH a mule! (I'm standing at bottom right of the map)Well then either... 1. The way Newties aggro has changed and there's nothing you can do about it 2. You are mistaken and nothing has changed 3. You're doing it wrong fulldraw Wrote:I've noticed that homing/bulls eye gives a knock back animation to just about everything but does it actually knock it back?Homing will knock back anything *if* you do more than the monster's KB. So if you can consistantly do over 12k with Homing, you could solo him with it. It wouldn't be terribly fast, but at least you'd be alive. Ask a Pirate Thread - fulldraw - 2010-05-12 There was a thread about homing giving kb images to things like zak and pianus, I thought it was auto kb but i guess not aha thanks though! Ask a Pirate Thread - KaidaTan - 2010-05-12 fulldraw Wrote:There was a thread about homing giving kb images to things like zak and pianus, I thought it was auto kbThat thread was saying that Homing can KB Zak and Pianus when it does over the KB, even though no other attack that does over the KB can. It still won't KB if you don't do enough damage. Ask a Pirate Thread - Punch - 2010-05-12 Got my first MoN (ever) today ![]() 11 Attack~ My range now is like 2016 ~ 3696 Idk, something like that, I'm Level 123.. how am I doing? Ask a Pirate Thread - Pikamemnon - 2010-05-13 What is the % Instant kill for the overpriced Durability Gun? Ask a Pirate Thread - Blup - 2010-05-15 Pikamemnon Wrote:What is the % Instant kill for the overpriced Durability Gun?3%, iirc. And I'm not sure if the gun's worth it even with Thorns+crit ring (+SE if possible) I'm currently level 127, and going up fast. I've found that taking the whole middle platform of newties (stand at middle and freeze left+right) with a bottom attacker is nice exp, still need to try that with a priest and top attacker. My question is: my current skill build is 1 Ship, 1 Boost, 1 Torp, 21 Cannon. Currently maxing cannon. Will 1 air strike and 1 RF help me in training (RF for bossing since with SE it's stronger than BF @ lvl 1, before balance patch, but only by a small bit, but it'll replace BF after balance). After I max cannon I plan on maxing battleship so i could kill more bosses with more ship (I zak\CWKPQ regularly, and I want to start soloing stuff.) After that, what should I max? Bullseye or Torpedo? Will Bullseye help my training in anything? or should I get torpedo to 21 so I could skele efficiently, and only then max bullseye? Ask a Pirate Thread - fulldraw - 2010-05-15 Air Strike helps in luring mobs on higher platforms (esp nice at wrath of night) but 1 will suffice. Lvl 1 rapid fire is only worth it after the balance patch and it never truly replaces burst fire because you can jump and shoot with burst fire. I went Torpedo to 21 first myself because i don't boss all that frequently but if you lvl on anegos/other bosses then Bulleyes will help you out alot. But in terms of regular training, bulls eye does squat! edit: typos Ask a Pirate Thread - KaidaTan - 2010-05-15 I went with Torpedo. Bullseye is nice, but you're not exactly going to be a damage king at that level anyway, and the mobbing power of Torpedo is enormous. |
