Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - MuscleWizard - 2015-05-14

i for one welcome our new cow overlords

Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - Dark Link - 2015-05-15

The anniversary event is live in EU and it seems you access the Cow place by killing a "Cow Goblin" in any place that can spawn a goblin, minus Rifts. There's a billion chests and replenishment chests. Otherwise people are calling the place and event rather lackluster.

Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - Words - 2015-05-15

I read about it last night and it does seem lackluster but who knows. Lots of crafting material, though, so that's nice... I guess.

Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - JoeTang - 2015-05-16

Went through it once. I have to agree that it's pretty lacklustre. It's not even good exp, despite a 500 kill spree.

Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - Endgame - 2015-05-16

So, it's a faithful remake of the D2 Cow Level?

Eh.

Eh.

Lol'ed. D2 Cow Level had decent XP, and you could at least get the novelty Cow Set, as useless as that was. And runes.

Found this terrible thing last night. I guess it's good that it doesn't really matter with zDPS but geez. Frown

Since I didn't play much of D2. Who wants to explain how the hell "Kanai’s Cube" works?

Dark Link Wrote:Since I didn't play much of D2. Who wants to explain how the hell "Kanai’s Cube" works?

It's something completely new. They only mentioned D2 because it's a Cube and the Horadric Cube was a Cube. Also, people have been asking for a cube like device of some sort for a long time. I think the original plan was for a Cube to be in the game to store charms in it.

This new thing, you use it to salvage a legendary item and it stores the item's passive ability in it. e.g. Unity's 50% damage reduction. You can then equip 3 legendary powers, one from a weapon, armor, and jewelery, but nothing from a different class. i.e. you can't wear another class's Hellfire passive or class specific ability.

That's all they've revealed so far. Can't wait to wear Calamity's effect with 2x Danetta's or K'Mar Tenclip + Natalya's though. My fucking trash min-damage Calamity has been waiting for this day apparently.

Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - Polantaris - 2015-06-24

This patch is interesting, and I'm considering coming back for it.

I wonder if you can store Set effects into the cube, or if it's a workaround for the fact that there's plenty of good Legendary effects that are useless because of so many set replacements that you essentially need. I also wonder what kinds of limitations the cube will have.

The addition of Kanai's Cube truly is very interesting. I saved up lots of my immunity amulets (including my one and only poorly-rolled Star of Azkaranth) hoping they'd be useful someday. Hellfire amulet + poison immunity (Mara's) as a barbarian is something I can look forward to, assuming that's how the new cube will work.

Torment 10...I'm hoping they can raise the chance rate of getting keys from keywardens since I want to replace my old one. If they raise it to 100% chance of getting keys at T10, then I'd be very happy. Making a decent hellfire amulet, while we're all at the mercy of RNG for a good roll, will be less time consuming like ever before for those who like to solo such as myself.

I'm pretty sure most people are also very happy with the removal of Realm of Trials from this patch. We shall see more in the PTR!

EDIT: I just read through Travis' post about the Hellfire event. Keywardens will drop infernal machines themselves and the Hellfire Amulet will come with a built-in socket. This is amazing news!

The Hellfire Amulet has always been a fruitless endevour in my opinion, I'm happy they're putting a lot of effort into making it less of a practice in how easily you can get frustrated. The fact that the new one added with RoS didn't have any kind of set rolls really was a stupid decision (has that changed outside of the slot? I haven't been paying attention), and it's good that they're working on making it less of a no-lifer thing.

As for the Realm of Trials...that was where you fight a bunch of spawns to determine the level of your Greater Rift Stone, right?

Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - Ginji - 2015-06-24

Polantaris Wrote:As for the Realm of Trials...that was where you fight a bunch of spawns to determine the level of your Greater Rift Stone, right?

Yes, that's correct. I used to spend hours just converting my trial keystones. The only feature they showed so far about this new change is that it has a drop-down menu on which Greater Rift level you'd like to do. I still don't know exactly how it works so we'll see.

Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - MuscleWizard - 2015-06-24

maybe i'll finally start grinding for a hellfire ammy, i haven't touched the keywardens in the entirety of the time i've played this game just because of how annoying it was.
also, kanai's cube + the furnace

toppest of keks

Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - Endgame - 2015-06-25

Oh cool. Maybe I'll start playing D3 again.

Furnace and Hexing Pants are definitely going to be my weapon and armor passive choices. But should I go for Poison immunity for GRift fishing fun without getting a new amulet or RoRG so I can go Focus and Restraint while using 6 Wastes 4 Kings on my Whirlwind Barbarian? Hmm.....

Maybe it'll finally be like it should have been in the first place, choose the rift level you'd like to do, and you unlock them starting from the beginning. This whole "slow grind level of keystones one at a time" pomegranate was dumb as hell.

Apparently someone compiled a list of things Developers have said on the forum about this patch: http://www.diablofans.com/news/48451-blue-post-summary-patch-2-3-blue-posts-round-up?cookieTest=1

One of the major things: Hellfire Amulets and Ancestor's Grace can't be absorbed into the new cube. Leaves the possibility for others as well...I hope only ridiculous gamebreaking combos are prevented.
