Churchill, mentioned upthread, also was a charismatic leader great at working a crowd. So was JFK. So were the leaders of the French Revolution and the American one, too.
Hitler was a master at it. That doesn't make anyone who's also good at it into Hitler.
Just as the Nazis were masters at keeping the trains running on time, but that doesn't make anyone who's punctual into a Nazi.
This is the essence of Godwin's Law, the fallacy it's trying to point out.
You can say all those things you said about Trump - that he's a demagogue and his ideas are the embodiment of "Complex problems have simple, easy to understand, wrong solutions," - without bringing up Hitler. These attributes are bad enough on their own. Once you add in Hitler, however, you're beyond rational discussion, because how can anyone be on the side of anyone that is "like Hitler"? That is why Godwin's Law says the thread is over once the Nazis are brought up.
Trump isn't Hitler, Sanders isn't Stalin, Hillary isn't the Anti-Christ. They are all people, with public records of what they have said and what they have done, and much speculation on what they intend to do and how it would pan out if they were given the chance to try.
I ask everyone in this discussion (and the other one) to try to keep it to rational arguments, and stay away from hyperbole (and of course from personal attacks on the posters themselves).

It's not hyperbole when the comparison is actually a valid commentary on his actions, policy, and public image.

Hitler was incredibly charismatic and his people loved him almost unanimously. While he treated most of the rest of the world like trash, he treated his own people like family, and not just a shitty "see you on the holidays" family, he could (and OFTEN DID) walk through the streets with no guards and be certain he would remain unharmed. Trump is no Hitler, that's an insult to Hitler. The difference between the two is that Trump would never even consider going into public without dozens of highly trained guards surrounding him, because he is not confident that he wouldn't be murdered, probably for good reason at that.

i'm going to have to ask something else, regardless of the "right or wrong" of trump to simply up and kick all illegal immigrants... why are they called "illegal" immigrants? isn't it precisely because they got into the US without permission or papers or any of those things? that they shouldn't be there in the first place?
i don't think the problem is with what trump is saying, but with how late it's being said, when the good part of the illegal immigrants have found work and are people of honest means (while the not-so-good part are out there murdering and trafficking drugs, to the point a documental was even done interviewing them)

They are getting jobs, sure. Our jobs. Not to go all "THEY TOOK AR JAWBS", but the reason the middle class is dying so thoroughly is because all the low end "starter" jobs are being given to illegals for pennies on the dollar compared to what a real worker would get as a wage; the only people that profit from illegals are the big businesses exploiting the wage gap, no other portion of our society benefits, and in fact, it does the opposite, it kills our economy, especially considering all this horsepomegranate about us having to give them free healthcare since they don't have any, which is the way a LOT of states are going. They should all get booted out, then immigration should be reformed and they can -attempt- to get in the right way, I won't even go so far as to say they should be disallowed from being added to that process even though they are pineappleing cheaters and every legal immigrant I know hates them MORE than US borns, because some of them had to work their asses off for years to get into this country; clean slate for everyone involved, because our government has been enabling them simply by their lack of upholding the existing laws and it may be that at this point some of them don't even know that they are doing something that is wrong, not when they see that everyone and their mother is coming in "illegally" anyway. They are used to laws being flaunted/ignored by the gangs and whatnot in their countries and they think that since our government treats immigration in the same way the same rules of "we will look the other way" apply. The first step is STILL to kick ALL of them out and make them start over from the real beginning-point of immigrating into this country, that or remove the laws altogether and match words to actions, in which case there will be redneck revolutions starting right here in my own neighborhood.

not arguing the first half (some enters would be nice though) in fact, the first half supports what i said, the illegals definitely don't want to leave, especially get kicked out and lose their job with no cushion to fall on except whichever they had amassed themselves, and the companies (and people who hire pedro the gardener) would rather keep em for the cheap labor
obviously legal immigrants are gonna hate them, legit people always dislike those who game the system and get away scott-free, or even better (see: maplestory for the closest example on hand.
the problem with illegal immigrants isn't the amount, it's the fact that it was allowed to grow and root itself so deeply before someone thought it was a good idea to call a gardener.
