They have a MLP refrence. Good god.
Seriously though, Guard/Bard's survivability is OP. With healing yourself, you can practically never die.

That's pretty neat, all achievement progress and titles and eidolons transfer between all of your characters.

Yep.

Remember that you need to unequip an eidolon to transfer it though. Also, the starter eidolon can't be unequipped.

EDIT: In other news, I remade my Duelist; I reclassed her into Gunslinger and based her looks on Aria from Hidan no Aria for the lulz.

Oh yeah, another thing. This looks pretty interesting.

So thaaaat's why titles have those "stats only kick in at level ##" things on them.

Edit: While I'm here, Tatemae is my main character, bard class.

And uh, y'know how def caps at 75% reduction? Am I supposed to already have that capped at level 22, or is that one of the reasons this is still beta? >_>

The only way you'd have it capped at Lv22 is if you pumped all your points into DEF, got a bunch of DEF-raising sigils, and fortified your armour a lot.

...did you seriously do that last one?

Anyway, that reduction is based on your level. There's an optimal value for every level, and the game keeps track of that and modifies the % reduction accordingly. If your DEF can't quite keep up with the rate of increase of that optimal value, you'll begin to see the % reduction fall as you level up. Oh, if you have TOO much DEF, it doesn't go to waste either; while it will no longer have any effect on the % reduction, it will act as a buffer against DEF-lowering debuffs.

I assume it has something to do with these fancy gold-border items I got from reward boxes, because I haven't even seen a fortification scroll or used a secret stone thing yet.
Two items, one a head equip named "Merilee's Loving Gaze" for 315 def and one a body equip named "Storm Merrilee's Loving Protection" for 401 def, and a set bonus for another 32 def.

And yeah, as a bard, I assumed DEF would be my go-to stat, so I've dumped literally every point into it so far; since all my healing done also heals myself, mitigating damage in the first place should go a lot further for me.

And thanks, nice to know pumping more DEF is still a good idea, since my % reduction will tank as my armour gets more outdated compared to my level.

Oh, but remember that since it's level-based, everything from the level at which...screw this, I'll provide an example.

Let's say you had capped DEF at Lv30. From this point onward you kept the absolute value of your DEF constant, and the percentage just kept dropping at 0.5%, so at Lv50 you ended up with 65% damage reduction.

Since it's damage reduction against "monsters of your level", if you take on Lv30 enemies, the damage you take will still be reduced by 75%. 74.5% for Lv31 enemies, 74% for Lv32 enemies, and so on. Just because your stat window now reads 65% doesn't mean that it's a 65% damage reduction applied to enemies of all levels. Similarly, enemies beyond Lv50 will be affected less.

Note that the above is just an example, and are by no means an accurate representation of in-game stats. The general idea however, is the same.

Coogi; Here's a thread with some fairly important info you might want to put in the first post or something. And here's a pretty important guild-related one, regarding eidolons spawning in the guild hall. Note that all spawn timings and whatnot in both threads are set to EST (GMT-5). Because Aeria.

Ah, right. Merrilee's equip set and (whatever the pirate captain's name is)'s equip set come from the unindentified armor useables. Merrilee is HP/Def, the captain's is ATT/CRT.

In other news, I can't support for pomegranate as a Guardian/Bard in instances. But that might be because I'm the only bard in the party and only got it subbed. Really, you need a full-blown bard that concentrates on healing to get trough the Mine.

Yup. If you're subbing Bard, the best you can do is be the secondary healer. i.e. Backup in case the main healer dies or can't get a heal out in time/can't keep up.

Oh yeah, I can't stress this enough but anybody who has Bard as their main class really should keep an eye on their own HP. I had to save my party's Bard on two separate occasions, because they ended up pulling the aggro off of the tank with their heals. I just barely managed to send one of my crappy heals their way just in time. I know healing others heals you too (only applies to the earliest heal, I believe?), but you can't rely on that too much. After all, you're a lot less tanky than the tank.

I've got another question, which would be...
...what class do you best sub with who? I mean Ravanger... I guess I could go with Wizard, due the one Envoy-Path skill that adds 10% Fire Damage, but even then, I'm not quite sure... maybe Cannoneer, because the turret/healcrystal get a decent amount of support?
Duelist would be quite good with the Gunslinger, correct? Both are fast and depend on their avoid/distance to not get hit.

As far as I can tell, it applies to every heal; even Ballad, the stackable HoT buff, applies stacks to myself when targeting an ally.

Edit: Derp, Ballad is just an AoE buff.

Just found out something:
You can have the same name across different servers. That means you can have the same name, with absolutely different classes, in every server. Heh.

There are two ways to pair classes.

1. Augment your strengths.
2. Cover your weaknesses.

Some other things to consider:

A. What role do you wish to play?
B. How compatible are the classes stat-wise?
C. Are the playstyles of the classes compatible?
D. What passives and skill effects would you like better?

For example, a Ravager/Guardian while beefier than the average Ravager isn't going to make the best tank; for one, you're not all that tanky, at least compared to a Guardian (A). Your malice generated won't be as high as a Guardian/Ravager with the Malice +50% passive (D), and the loss of the additional 30% damage reduction from Phalanx hurts a lot (also D). On the other hand, you get much higher damage thanks to all your passives, and you also get HP recovery from Round and Round. As for stats and playstyle, there isn't any issue. Well, this combination does give you a little more survivability, so it's somewhat effective if you solo a lot. This is an example of covering your weaknesses, because Ravagers just suck at taking damage.

Now let's consider Bard/Guardian. The very first thing you'd notice is that this is a healer subbing a melee class ©, which isn't usually advisable. In the first place, your damage is going to be absolute crap because neither class is a DPS class. The only reason why anyone would do this is because they want more survivability as a bard, which is nice and all but it also means that your subclass is pretty much totally going to waste save for say Phalanx, which doesn't last very long anyway. Besides, Bards have plenty of survivability already, so that makes this a pretty bad combination. The only thing this combination has going for it is that SPD and HP/DEF are the most important stats for both classes. This is an example of augmenting your strengths taken to the extreme, to the detriment of pretty much everything else. Guardian/Bard, on the other hand, has tanking as its main role with the subclass boosting survivability, so it's a good combination.

Something else you might want to consider if you have some free time are what sigils you want to use. Sigils boost your skills, and each sigil can only be placed in a specific type of equipment. Therefore, you might want to plan a little in advance so the sigils that boost skills you'll be using often don't end up clashing. Well, this isn't all that important so...

And remember, you can subclass ANYTHING. The combo skills on the Envoy's Path aren't usually worth it due to their long cooldowns (with some exceptions, like Guardian/Duelist's lifesteal skill Sanguine Blade), so don't limit yourself to specific combinations because of them.

More stuff to consider: Our Envoy's Path isn't fully extended yet. You might want to check out the new passives post-extension, like the Guardian's Taunt (greatly boosts malice generated via attacking). Also, consider the new class mechanics we don't have yet. We don't know whether the subclass's mechanics will be in effect, though.

I'm thinking about uninstalling. Point and clicks aren't really for me >_>.

Aren't MOBAs in general point-and-click?

Aura Kingdom - Open Beta Jan. 6th 5:30PST! - Coogi - 2014-01-12

If I couldn't use my controller I wouldn't have ever played this game, I can't stand using a mouse to play games. I HATE MOBAs with a passion, I'm one of those people who can't see how anyone would find LoL even remotely fun.

And I can't believe the guild hall resets more than once a day, lol just found that out yesterday, found out a lot of crap I didn't know in the guide area of aeriagames.

MOBAs have the element of strategy at least. Point-and-clicks in MMOs...ugh...maybe if the story kept me hooked =/.

Corn, did you ever try the one called something like "Epic loot" I can't remember the name but i think it was by Ubisoft? I always wanted to try it but never got in beta. =/ I never like them games but wanted to try it lol.

Aura Kingdom - Open Beta Jan. 6th 5:30PST! - Corn - 2014-01-12

The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot? I dunno, the concept is somewhat interesting, but it sounds more like a game I'd have to see what the critics/other players feel about it.

Yeah that was it.

I swear the servers have been down a lot lately. =/
