How was your day today? - DotA 2 Edition - Malthe - 2013-10-04 I'm personally currently watching the staff cup from theGDstudio perspective: http://www.twitch.tv/thegdstudio It's the best. How was your day today? - DotA 2 Edition - Chew - 2013-10-04 After losing 3 matches in a row. We finally won. ugh feels so good
How was your day today? - DotA 2 Edition - Words - 2013-10-10 I had some time last night and played two games with Adam and his friend. Won both matches despite being rusty as hell. Also, I decided to set up a d2l account and bet on some matches and it's really great, won some DK commons I hope I keep winning and get some WR items :3Once I have time to play again I'll have cool looking items
How was your day today? - DotA 2 Edition - Vanderlust - 2013-10-11 Tried out 10 lifestealer games yesterday in a row playing different builds. I was comparing phase drum armlet s&y vs phase drum mael/mjollnir basher. I ended up liking the latter build better in general (the less popular one) because you farm really fast with the early maelstrom or mjollnir. The armlet build is probably better for early fighting, but both builds are really good at early fighting, so IMO it's not that big of a deal. If I have like a spirit breaker/bat/storm/some other blink hero on my team though I prefer armlet. Also tried a trolly orchid one game because I was against a qop/windrunner/bat/pudge/rubick line up. Went well but was in a stack of friends who were pretty reliable, so not sure if I'll try that again. I'm not saying that shadow blade+orchid, concoction-maxing alchemist is necessarily great but it's actually not bad. Based EE-Sama has tried out armlet on Anti-Mage in a competitive game; why not Morphling? I think orchid weaver used to be a thing as well. armlet PA, void... why the hell not? the only thing is that armlet/orchid means no quick bkb and coming back for armlet or orchid is sub-par since they're really timing items. Yea, I'm not surprised people tried it out on him. After all, the reason why the movespeed build got popular is because it helps him solve that problem of not being able to stick to people and getting kited. Personally I don't do many unusual armlet pickups. PA is definitely one hero that is amazing with armlet (try it!). Orchid is almost always a situational thing for me unless I have some really good ganking hero with positioning skills (in which case it's standard; ie storm, qop, clinkz, etc). I usually get it when my team lacks disables or there are annoying heroes to kill. Slark is a hero that can utilize both surprisingly well! Orchid obviously helps your ganking combo as well as his mana issues. Armlet is also good because he benefits from everything it gives pretty much + you can heal during ult, etc. Pretty unusual and really early-mid game/ganking oriented, but a nice snowballing build. I mean slark himself is highly midgame gank-train oriented and so it inherently helps, the only problem is that it takes a little while to get online and if he's delaying his ganking for that it's a bit of a problem. orchid bounty hunter has been a thing before and I still see it sometimes orchid on Clockwerk is something that I think was a thing but that bone7 and his absolutely insane clockwerk builds have brought back (this might be a simplified and/or completely wrong version of the story) I would say orchid doom might be decent but why not just go veil and get more armor? orchid timber is decent as I've mentioned before I *think* that you should be able to activate orchid during Spirit Breaker's Charge which would be pretty damn good. Ups your burst combo significantly. I could see it on a ganking gyro, a razor, viper, even a medusa then of course puck windrunner storm prophet silencer SWM qop invoker (!!) or OD really any ganking hero. How was your day today? - DotA 2 Edition - Chew - 2013-10-11 Tried out solo queue again... That wasn't that bad
How was your day today? - DotA 2 Edition - Words - 2013-10-12 iG vs TongFu game 2 is really worth watching! I thought Chinese games were serious but omg. How was your day today? - DotA 2 Edition - Chew - 2013-10-12 So yeah, pineapple the bot matches. I've been playing all day long in solo queue. Won 6 lost 2. Good day. Gotta say, I'm feeling comfortable with other roles rather than just support. And I'm loving Mirana, got prasied for some of my arrows. ![]() Also, what's better for her? Diffusal, daedalus or just manta? How was your day today? - DotA 2 Edition - Words - 2013-10-13 Chew Wrote:So yeah, pineapple the bot matches. Depends what you are playing against. Diffusal is great for ganking/team fights; Mantha when you're split pushing or playing against Puck and other cc that can get dispelled with Mantha; and I have no clue about Daedalus... maybe if you're the only carry? How was your day today? - DotA 2 Edition - Vanderlust - 2013-10-14 Chew Wrote:So yeah, pineapple the bot matches. diffusal/manta is a pretty good combo for ganking, like mentioned above. A nice build for that kind of mirana is like phase drum shadowblade diffusal manta damage/bfly Daedalus is just something you get when you need damage (ie your other cores don't deal much right click damage). If you're playing carry mirana you have to get this very often eventually to scale into the late game because her rightclick damage is pretty bad. It's one of the best damage items. Almost all of my starting mirana builds are something like phase drum manta or tread aquila manta. The former is if you wanna fight more and the latter is if you want to get better sustain to farm in a more passive game. Next item is usually some kind of damage item like bfly or daedalus. Getting maelstrom/mjollnir for the farming version and diffusal for the fighting option are situational items. How was your day today? - DotA 2 Edition - IllegallySane - 2013-10-14 Chew Wrote:Also, what's better for her? Diffusal is more utility based: ganking/securing a kill Manta is more survival based with a mix of offense: Get ride of stuff like Silence/snares, can help confuse the enemy and save your life, and helps push harder Daedelus is a pure carry Mirana type item. Can your teammates keep the enemies distracted while you right click them down? Get this. How was your day today? - DotA 2 Edition - Words - 2013-10-14 SingSing stream makes me very happy. How was your day today? - DotA 2 Edition - Chew - 2013-10-15 I'm really diggin' Mirana. I like what I'm capable to do with her. Didn't lose my mid lane versus that duo of Tinker + Crystal Maiden. Kept my exp ratio in the 2nd top and my farming wasn't that bad juding by just gettin assistances from teamfights. ![]() A couple games more and she'll be my new "most effective" hero. So now she's my avatar How was your day today? - DotA 2 Edition - Words - 2013-10-15 Dota2Lounge bots have weird names. I'm currently trading with Obama. Also, it's kinda boring when only a handful of teams are doing fine... makes rates be stupid and pointless to bet. How was your day today? - DotA 2 Edition - Words - 2013-10-16 Those were some incredibly easy games. OD not leveling prison until who knows when made the lane really really easy for me. At least after laning stage I didn't suck balls, which is usually the case. Still Storm is hard, you want farm/mana/ganks and it's hard to tell where to get all of it in one place. Also sad because N'aix never infested me and that's the only reason why I picked it xD |
