Raised body temperature sounds suitable for winter seasons. Is it (EC stacking) safe in the summer with... up to 90F weather?

Fitness thread - DeanNim - 2013-05-04

i can run 2.4km with no problems now. All i have to do is shorten the time taken(currently 11mins, aim 8 minutes).

chrome Wrote:Holy crap! 16 pounds in 2 weeks?! How much are you eating? @_@ I started an EC stack today.
Well as I'm sure you're profoundly aware of the effects by now you'll know what I'm talking about when I say my appetite has just absolutely gone to pomegranate. I have to force myself eat most days. If I had to guess though because I'm doing IF I'm probably only eating an upwards of 1500 a day?

With that intake, I assume you have made close to zero gains?
CNS, if any.

Yeah, I'm not looking to make any gains for about the next 2-3 weeks. Giving my body a rest because I've had so many issues recently and just cutting back on some excess weight.

Doing a lot of low weight high volume sets right now. Gotta tell you man, doing 3x5 at 275 is a totally different feel than 3x10 at 185. My legs have never shook so bad in my entire life.

I know the feel.
doing 4x20 at 60(rear delt flies), on 4th set, rep 10-20 is what struggles me the most. never ever have I pushed myself so much, as the first time I did that.

I decided I'm going to do keto too. So far it's been easy. Lunch was a burger patty, a bunch of chicken, bacon, and guacamole. I'm being pretty hesitant on taking protein powder just because of the trace amount of carbs it has, and I've had some carbs (like one weird chip thing with hummus on it, plus the guacamole) today. I'm not even sure if I'm in ketosis yet but I'm scared of breaking it.

Also, I don't know if it was just me having a bad day, but I do not recommend MusclePharm Assault. I took a sample packet this morning and I felt like crap in the gym--I normally do 55s or 60s for dumbbell shoulder press, but I couldn't budge 55s this morning. I'd been using DS Craze before that and it worked for me, so I'm going to stick with it. Though I benched 185x5 relatively easily; I'm usually slow on the bar around that weight. I was too scared to do 190/195 since I was pretty crap this morning though.

Jack3d or go home.

Are you using the original or Micro? I've been thinking about trying it but I can't find the original anywhere.

EDIT: Hit 405x1 on deadlifts again today; it was a lot harder than last week. I think I came off a weekend of overeating last week, but I'm not really sure why it was so much harder today. I almost pulled a muscle in my butt (srs), twice.

Tuesday, May 7, work sets only

I don't think running at my weight is a good idea right now. Anybody know how long I need to walk to get the equivalent of running a mile (If that's possible)?

Fitness thread - Imitazion - 2013-05-13

Yes, it is possible.
I don't know how far/long it would be, but it is a great start.
But dieting is the most important.

Also

I am 1.6kg from my goal :')
It's been a long ride, but I'm so close to my ideal weight.
Started at 102kg. Goal is 85!

Fitness thread - DeanNim - 2013-05-18

im having alot less trouble running 2.4 kilometers now. Running times have improved as well.
Im so glad I dont start out at like 16mins.. man thats gonna need alot of work.

Fitness thread - chrome - 2013-05-27

I went to Planet Fitness.

Damn that place sucks.

did they hit the lunk alarm?

Fitness thread - chrome - 2013-05-29

Imitazion Wrote:did they hit the lunk alarm?
Haha no, but the huge "lunk" sign in front of the free weights section was really annoying. I was actually pretty offended by it and every other sign in that god forsaken gym.

Recently I ran into one of my old high school friend's Instagram profile. He used to be pretty skinny and lifted way less than I did, but recently he's bulked up and he's about at my level, even past me on some lifts. We used to be rivals at everything. I seriously don't want him to be stronger than me.

Starting today I'm completely cleaning up everything about my diet/exercise. I'm still going to try to cut, but I'm going to do it much slower in a way that I continue to get stronger...basically almost a recomp. He pulls 405x1, I pull 405x1. He is not going to pull the same weight as I do, god damn it.

EDIT: The plan as I've thought of it in the shower:

Madcow 5x5 for ? weeks, until my total stays above 1000 for two weeks. To verify this I'll be doing a 1RM for squat, DL, and bench every two weeks on the Sunday when I don't normally work out, with the first being on June 10. I assume this will take two months or so since I've reset my lifts (Deadlift was starting to stall, squats I started doing ATG, bench...well I just reset it anyway)
Currently:
- 405x1 DL
- 355x1 squat
- 190x5 bench (225x1?)
Total: 950

Afterwards, I'll be focusing on a hypertrophy routine while still on a modest cut, either PHAT or something else. Once I've hit a good BF% (Aiming for 10%, I'm ~15% right now) I'll immediately start bulking. I don't have any plans for that right now. For cardio throughout, I might do sprints or something, but I'm mostly going to be walking my dog 3 miles every morning...while farmer's carrying a kettlebell/plate.

My diet is going to be mostly intermittent fasting, extremely low carb (keto) until/unless I hit a plateau. According to IFCalc I'm cycling 1600/2100 kcal, to be adjusted if I'm not losing 0.5~1.0-lb a week.

God damn I need to get my shit together. That motherfucker is not going to beat me.

I really wish I was.
I was playing around with Wii Fit Plus for about 2 weeks, then I got bored of it.
I've been wanting to get in shape but I don't know how to and I lack the motivation and I don't exactly have the money to go to a gym.
Maybe once I get a job I'll try to get motivated enough to go...

wii fit is the pixelated equivalent to "the hips you've always wanted in 10 days" magazines.
I've been wanting to get in shape but I don't know how to
we can teach you.
and I lack the motivation
yes, it seems that you do.
and I don't exactly have the money to go to a gym.
calisthenics. drink water and skim milk, instead of everything else.
eat 2-3 less potatoes. skip the 2nd spoonful of gravy. get that extra portion of vegetables.

Maybe once I get a job I'll try to get motivated enough to go...

Response in bold.
I don't know how your current shape is, but I was at 102kg 23% bodyfat back in january, and now I am 86kg 12% bodyfat.
easy does it. literally.

Wow, congrats!
Before getting in shape, I feel like I need to get my life back on track first, hence why I mentioned the job thing.
I've always been the same weight for years, always between 180 and 190 (pounds), sometimes a bit over but rarely.
It's not the weight that bothers me, it's the fact that I'm not in shape.
Hopefully I can start working on it soon. ^^

"I am in shape. Round is a shape."

Also "after I get my life in order" and "after I get a job" are very familiar procrastination excuses.
Being in better shape will make it easier to get a job. (Just don't go the other extreme of "I'll go to job interviews once I can fit into a size <tiny> dress")
