Envious of you JMS again. Why can't Korea do the same with Global?

My inner Samurai Otaku has awakened looking at this content. I PRAY that GMS gets this as well T_T

That skill actually seems to closely resemble Phantom's, the fourth job one where he leaps in the air and rains flaming cards down on his enemies.

Tempest of Cards - yeah, I was thinking the same exact thing.

Twilight, actually. Tongue

Is it just that doesn't like how these classes are looking so far? Hayato's skills are huge and not that great looking, and Kanna's don't look like they belong in MapleStory :S

I think he means the Twilight one, Tempest's that blue one. :>

i was mostly joking, as she seems to have hit something behind her too, but the fact it looks like a lot of pellets being shot is why i said it.

that said, some sort of touhou-hurricane skill for this class would be the most amazing thing ever.

Oh, yeah... Twilight is what I meant. ._. My mind is all over the place at the moment. Lmao I'm too tired to think straight.

Link Wrote:-The “Great Battle of Sengoku” content is modeled after Star Craft’s “Aeon of Strife” custom map. You can cooperate with your friends, or you can hire AI to tag along with you on missions.
-There is a “Reputation” system being added alongside the Sengoku updates. There will be famous people from Japanese history from which you can get quests from under their family crests. After you’ve completed each of their quests, you can fight bosses to increase your ranking with Reputation. You can only gain rank by reward items given to you through these challenges.

Sounds like a fancy version of Aswan's Inner Ability system. I guess JMS's Korean Team didn't like Aswan?

As for the classes...they do seem reminiscent of Aran and Evan...but hoping that it's just in the looks department and that they're not reskins. Really hoping.

I highly doubt the developers just create content and then say, ''You know what -insert Maple version here-, we just made this content, and we want it to be exclusive for you.''

I'm sure there's deals involved, and teams from both the foreign versions AND the developers to get certain content. Concepts could be shared and looked over, etc.

We most likely got Jett because it's something Global wanted. Also, another thing is that jMS and the developers are able to work much closer together, and they have more resources to help develop exclusive content.

Well sure I'll give you that, but why should JMS and KMS devs be the only ones who can work together efficiently? With how interconnected the globe is, I don't see any reason why Global devs and Korean devs could not push to get something on a similar scale to the JMS content. I mean JMS has put out many unique concepts like the Monster tamer profession and monster card summons (granted those were a redo of an old concept). This time, they not only have a MS original concept (many japanese games use the warring states story so not entirely original, but new to MS), they also have what appears to be actual new classes (as in they don't look to resemble or directly copy any existing class' attacks like Jett and Dragon Warrior accomplished so well). Why couldn't Korean devs and Global devs create something like that? GMS is Global and has many different countries tied into it- why not develop something that appeals to that "global" audience instead of a reskinned pirate job? They could have actually made Planet Cerebus for Jett; made original animations and attacks instead of "lol this already exists. Let's copy it and re-skin everything cause it's easy and appeases people". Yes, it probably would have taken a little while longer, but it would have been a far more interesting piece of content over a rushed re-skin job. Hell, it could have brought more excitement.

Sure Global devs and Korean devs can't exactly hope over a lake to get to a meeting, but that's why we have the internet- we have the capability to have real-time meetings face to face via skype; we can send messages instantly with pictures and content. They have no legitimate reason for not being able to communicate between dev teams. The only legitimate reason that I can see that we would not obtain content similar to this is if the Korean dev teams did not approve anything of this scale (which I don't see why they wouldn't for any good reason at all) or the Global dev team is completely mindless and lacks an significant amount of imagination. Maybe GMS is just not worth the time and effort. I want "exclusive" global content as much as any other GMS user, but getting something that's half ass-ed and lacks any sort of unique concept? I'd rather wait longer for something more thought out and clever. You remember how awesome Masteria was when they released it? I want that feeling again. When i saw Jett, all I thought of was "oh. it's a reskin of something that had already been developed. Nothing to see here folks. By the way, where's my Pirate revamp that we were all looking forward to?"

Korean developers for SEA said that we will get some exclusive content in Q4 of 2012, doesn't sound promising though.

Honestly I completely agree with what you are saying myself.

My only thought is that it might have to do with money. JMS may not be as popular as it used to be, but it still net them a ton of cash, way more than GMS did if I remember that annual report correctly. Granted, they dug their own grave with allowing hackers to flourish so long, but it doesn't change the fact that at this point, they simply do not make enough money...and if you were a businessman, which would you greenlight? The Exclusive Content for a version that's still netting them plenty of cash, or one that appears to be dying compared to what they (probably) used to make off of? Why would they invest the time and energy when it doesn't seem like the reward would be worth in when speaking in terms of cold hard cash.
