GMS Server Status Discussion < 10-31-2011 - Justin - 2011-10-19

Why does it seem like this only happens at nighttime? I'm starting to notice a very strange trend here.

GMS Server Status Discussion < 10-31-2011 - SaptaZapta - 2011-10-19

Nice, they've completely turned off the login servers, or took them off the 'net, including the "master login" (authentication server). Latency 21 as opposed to the usual 0.07 for all the other channels (meaning the computers are up, just the MapleStory server application is down).

Gives me hope that they're going to make a serious change to the way logins are handled in this Maintenance, and hopefully block whatever leak or bypass the account hackers have been using.

Yeah, yeah, I know, a rather naive hope, knowing this is Nexon. But still... I'm so sick and tired of living in fear that I'll gladly grasp at straws.

GMS Server Status Discussion < 10-31-2011 - Eos - 2011-10-19

This is exactly the way they do every maintenance.

They disable the login servers, leave the channel select server up, take all the actual channels down.

Then they'll bring all the channels back up, log in on their special hidden secret dedicated login server, get to the still active channel select server, test all the channels, declare it broken, take everything back down, extend another two hours, lather, rinse, repeat until 40 hours later they finally reactivate the login servers instead of extending.

GMS Server Status Discussion < 10-31-2011 - SaptaZapta - 2011-10-19

They usually leave the "master login" (or w/e the proper name for "login server 20") up throughout, no?
It was offline for a while when I wrote that.
Ah well, guess we have to wait and see.

They do a reboot of it, generally, but that's about it and probably all you saw.

The master login appears to be down now.

GMS Server Status Discussion < 10-31-2011 - Eos - 2011-10-19

How exciting. Maybe they're replacing it.
Or not having it exist as a single point of failure. That'd be nice.

GMS Server Status Discussion < 10-31-2011 - SaptaZapta - 2011-10-19

Speaking of single points of failure, I wonder whether they'll do something about whatever box it is that keeps choking up and lagging their entire network.

NICE SERVER UPGRADES NEXON. APPRECIATE IT.

GMS Server Status Discussion < 10-31-2011 - Zenkat - 2011-10-20

Another night in a row of the same laggy crap. What in the world did they do?

What're you talking about? These are clearly the best upgrades NexonNA has ever done!

GMS Server Status Discussion < 10-31-2011 - PeePeeAyeDeeKay - 2011-10-20

Hey!, guess what... They dragged Tespia along with it! Biggrin Tongue

GMS Server Status Discussion < 10-31-2011 - ShinkuDragon - 2011-10-20

and from (my) looks of it, same with DN?

GMS Server Status Discussion < 10-31-2011 - Justin - 2011-10-20

Why does it seem like Nexon seriously just does, not, care? This issue has been going on for a week now? And they've said god damn NOTHING about it. They said "oya we investigatin dis pomegranate" and that's IT. So infuriating. I can never use a 1.5x exp buff or family buff because I never know when the pineapple the server's going to eat itself again.

GMS Server Status Discussion < 10-31-2011 - Chameleonic - 2011-10-20

So these 12 hour maintenances do nothing?

if you check DFO's mainsite, they are have a 3x event to make up for it being down too. I don't know to what extent, but according to the notice the game was actually down when there was supposed to be a 2x to compensate for an earlier downtime. LOL.

GMS Server Status Discussion < 10-31-2011 - MinhoChoi - 2011-10-20

Now I'm getting a gameguard error instead of the normal one..

GMS Server Status Discussion < 10-31-2011 - Luxeraph - 2011-10-20

FrownIt seems the instability shot down my tespia download (that take 5+ hours when my speed isn't crappy), well I guess no tespia for me (unless I try again tomorrow but it doesn't seem worth it).

The problem is with Nexon's access to the internet. When whatever router or w/e goes laggy/dead, all their games, as well as their websites, become inaccessible (or hideously laggy) at once.

Maybe they got a hold of my old Modem LOL
It used to lose internet connection every couple of days late at night.
