Anyway sorry off topic- It depends. If you like ridiculous single target dps and boss soloing, hit up Bowmaster. If you like to do anything else, go marksman. Marksman or Bowmaster - Sihan - 2008-10-23 As i said, i'm trying both of them on a private server. Hopefully i'll like one. Marksman or Bowmaster - Technolink - 2008-10-24 We're technically off-topic now, but why start a new thread =D I went to squids at 80, got used to the map fast, but still died a lot. There's a difference between careless error and knowing the map. Level 82 and 86 I recall being particularly painful, at least a month on each because I just kept dieing at squids. It was either chatting, or me just zoning out that usually resulted in a spawned on death. Squids are tough, not to adjust to, just to train at in general. Most other maps you can get away with a quick chat message here and there, but with squids that's really life or death. That's the biggest difference I see. Anyone can get used to potting more often after a few hours, but breaking my chatting habit is near impossible, maple is as much social as a video game for me. Marksman or Bowmaster - Kevvl - 2008-10-24 That's mainly why I reside at Newties now. I can safely chat thanks to Eagle and Bliz, but Squids not so much. If I go AFK at Squids, I'll die. If I go AFK at Newties, I'll be fine. If you REALLY can't get past Squids, Newties are a safe alternative, although a lot of high levels don't take kindly to 8x's at Newts =/ Squids is a good transition, and just because they seem easy now, doesn't mean they aren't hard for alot of 80's trying to learn how to train there. I need to keep myself entertained, and pure grinding won't do that for me. I need people to talk to. Kevvl Wrote:That's mainly why I reside at Newties now. D= I'll just go AR first next time, it'll make my life much easier. Marksman or Bowmaster - Sihan - 2008-10-24 IMO strafe first is smarter. Don't even respond to me if you're just going to keep trolling me. I could care less about your stuck-up, rude opinion, leave me alone. You HAVE to overpot when playing a ranged class. Trying to save money by hesitating when using pots is a horrible mistake at higher levels. Once you get past the first training spot where you die in two hits, every other training spot becomes much easier. So yeah, I died quite a few times at Death Teddies, but Squids and Gobies were easy. Marksman or Bowmaster - Sihan - 2008-10-24 I'm liking BM alittle better. Marksman or Bowmaster - Technolink - 2008-10-24 Good example on the pot mentailty. For newts, I decided to do barbs+hotdog supreme since that's 1500+503 = 2003 mesos as opposed to the 2300 of an icepop (but still 2k hp healing). Turns out my fingers weren't as lightning as I thought, and the newts were actually able to get second attacks on me before I could hit the hotdog supreme. So then I was stuck with 800 hotdog supremes xD! In aqua, the idea should be to overpot for attacks AND carry white potions around. Whenever you see your hp below 300 (from the black squid magic attack, posion, or aqua hp drain) use a white, whenever you get touched, use a pop/barb (depending on your def). Try not to use combos like barb+white, just use a pop. White pots are good because its easy to feel when you need one, and squids drop them so you can use them with your normal stash. Marksman or Bowmaster - WingZero - 2008-10-25 You can't be stingy when you're training, but if you must, Supreme Pizzas are you're best bet combined with Barbs at Squids. Supremes to keep you HP when it falls below 1400k depending on your def and Barbs for touch damage. Squids shouldn't take too long to get used to, maybe a few days. I think it took me longer to get used to swimming than potting. So yea, you can't skimp on pots when you're training losing a few mesos is better than losing 1hr of training.
Marksman or Bowmaster - Sihan - 2008-10-26 Close thread please.

Marksman or Bowmaster - Aeosyn - 2008-10-26 Wow, Alex, please don't speak for BMs, you make them sound like pompous assholes

Marksman or Bowmaster - Kevvl - 2008-10-27 We had a small discussion about coin flips, and this responce here is off topic. Does that count? =P Marksman or Bowmaster - Sihan - 2008-10-27 Lol. 9 pages, finally decided. Poof. So, what's the thing you guys were saying about 1400 HP? Marksman or Bowmaster - DiscoStun - 2008-10-28 Lvl 122 i have 3.1k hp. Training is a pot wastage since 1/1 ratio potions I can use are cheeses. It sucks. 4.5k gone per hit -.-" Worst drawback of being bowman is low hp. Being able to HT only at lvl 16x (talking bout wings) is ass... |
