[1.2.384] A Cannon Shooter is born - cronnoponno - 2011-06-02 Uh, wait, Takebacker, are you arguing that the class doesn't need to be buffed in their survivability? Demolition does have some really open spots on it, and I am still affected by status ailments in Demo. I think that's pretty retarded, why would an accuracy debuff(or even worse something like dispel) hit me when I'm unable to be hit? I get hit all the time at Pap because he casts a spell during my demo, which doesn't hit me, but sometimes lasts so long(the animation) where I'm hit as soon as my hitbocks becomes relevant again. I usually dc within 10 seconds of a boss fight because, well, idk, so I've never really been to any ''big'' boss fights, but I highly doubt this doesn't actually happen there as well. Of course I guess it'd be stupid to argue that pirates need to be able to remain invulnerable as long as they try indefinitely, but I don't really see a point in not upping their survivability. We're also forgetting Demolitions wonderful ability to stun monsters, in order to aid our critical rate. For a 1vs1 skill, this was clearly a good idea. I'd be willing to get rid of that benefit for a smaller delay, or something better like blocking status effects(seduce). I have no problem with this class though, save for the fact that some of the animations look really stupid(the backstep shot clone skill, looks like he's using it like a pistol, I think that's very dumb). But I think I might totally main this class when I see the finished product, looks really fun.(Note I am not trying to dodge an argument, feel free to quote me still) [1.2.384] A Cannon Shooter is born - Link - 2011-06-02 Takebacker Wrote:I honestly don't know how you can say that. I guarantee the vast majority of buccs wouldn't consider sacrificing actually doing damage to PB in exchange for CSB+barrage (LEVEL 1 BARRAGE TOO), which is literally the worst DPS in the game, for the sake of making the entire boss run faster. How do you go about guaranteeing that? And how does that = thinking or skill? [1.2.384] A Cannon Shooter is born - cronnoponno - 2011-06-02 While this game requires some ''strategy'' when it comes to bosses, I would not claim it requires any serious level of skill. The biggest Achilles heel of our survivability is the availability of energy, which everyone has been saying needs to be charged per hit rather than per attack since the beginning. Once we have that we don't really need much else as far as buffing survivability. cronnoponno Wrote:Demolition does have some really open spots on it, and I am still affected by status ailments in Demo. While i agree with your issue with demolition, i'm not sure your example is a good enough justification for it. If you attack on the top plats he doesn't hit you for any spells/debuffs, only attacks. And even then it's pretty hard for him to hit you. Still one would think the solution would be make invincibility frames ignore those kinds of ailments, but that would have to include sed as well which is pretty OP (from nexon's PoV anyway). I think giving 50% or lower status resistance during barrage and demo would solve that pretty easily. cronnoponno Wrote:I usually dc within 10 seconds of a boss fight because, well, idk, so I've never really been to any ''big'' boss fights, but I highly doubt this doesn't actually happen there as well. It depends on the boss really. All curing isn't usually an issue because if i get cursed i can just all cure mid-demo and be uninterrupted. At empress i'd have to guess i would get a dispel from a bishop so as not to activate the pot cooldown. cronnoponno Wrote:We're also forgetting Demolitions wonderful ability to stun monsters, in order to aid our critical rate. Demo either ohkos stunnable stuff or stun doesn't activate at all, so it doesn't really matter if they take that out. It stunning only helps me at event bosses. I didn't claim control requires thinking or skill. Just experience. [1.2.384] A Cannon Shooter is born - cronnoponno - 2011-06-02 Yeah I was giving the stun feature some sarcasm there. That would be true that having energy charge work per hit would solve a lot of my problems with the class, as well as 50% resistance to ailments. Better than nothing I say. Something else that would solve a lot of problems would be to just make them ridiculously OP'd, you know... Were you implying that having those benefits would make them overpowered? Or were you just joking we might as well make them overpowered to fix their problems? [1.2.384] A Cannon Shooter is born - IllegallySane - 2011-06-02 Compared to the level of goodies everyone else is getting, Energy Charge charging up energy at a much faster rate is hardly an issue at all. Hell, give Buccs 90% passive Stance and it'll hardly be problematic seeing Cannon Shooters get 80% stance, and Mechs get 100% stance. Demolition ignoring status ailments except for say Seduce? Highly doubt that'd be game breaking at all if the vulnerability period is still left alone. [1.2.384] A Cannon Shooter is born - Cheesecake - 2011-06-02 Already got an ign in mind... DarWinning. [1.2.384] A Cannon Shooter is born - Blades4hire - 2011-06-03 Anyone notice the level 95 normal(6) cannon in extractions as opposed to the slow (8) ones? Also, why is the 130 cannon 8 att lower than timeless? And does anyone know if they are UA able? [1.2.384] A Cannon Shooter is born - Satellite - 2011-06-03 Amazing class? What... I don't know if you guys are talking about the fun-factor. At 4th job, what skills is he using? Not a pineappleing anything else than Mechanic laz0r beam along with ultimate and rush skill once in while. Only thing I have interest in is that Anchor skill so waiting for videos about that. Funny how different people have different opinions. [1.2.384] A Cannon Shooter is born - cronnoponno - 2011-06-03 They are using the mechanic laser thing, the triple shot thing, two types of flash jump, ultimate. My favorite thing about this class is that the weapon is massive, and on the back, only to be taken off when being fired, that is simply amazing to me. I hate how weapons get in the way of my characters appearance, Sins are boring, and Buccs are always transformed. Plus, I have yet to see how they boss, I'm liking what I see from the beginning, once future videos show up I'm sure I'll like them even more. |
