[1.2.328] Battlemages get their spotlight - IllegallySane - 2010-07-17 I just had a thought. Although Charge Blow keeping the charge makes ACB not as attractive as before (where every single Paladin and their mother will max ACB 1st) it also means White Knights are not so borked in 3rd job and early 4th. It's a nice rebalance of making the transition of power balance of warriors more smooth and making WKs not so gimmicky. Definitely... things are getting closer to balance, definitely... and still no confirmation that tele-nading and tele mastery work together? plus, pardon if i havent heard but- i guess, that these recent adventurer changes will hit KMS when the Resistance is released, and then everyone will get the second sp reset, and that is why KMST had 3 sp resets, and the live server had 1 (so far?) [1.2.328] Battlemages get their spotlight - ZottenKerel - 2010-07-17 - (hidden) Finish Attack - Final Blow - damage (500 to 940) Talk about an increase... Most Paladins will probably still max ACB first, as base Charge Blow only hits 4 targets post-revamp. ACB increases damage, gives more mastery, and pushes the mob count "back" up to 6. So while not as critical, it's still massively useful. Making a Battlemage when this hits GMS, and making it my new main, I wish you showed better control though, but I guess that was in-part due to the weapon you were using. The reaper skill doesn't happen enough anymore, they need to fix that. [1.2.328] Battlemages get their spotlight - Random_Overlord - 2010-07-17 You know what they should have done apart from making all the skills Uber? Give mounts the ability to run faster like a charged stampede. Does anyone know if they're giving everyone free AP resets as well to further balance the jobs? Since most statless jobs will be rendered obsolete, it'd be best to give everyone a whole AP reset along with a SP reset. Adding Dex as a Warrior has never been advisable if you have funds. Now there is no reason to do it, regardless of how poor you are. What happened in the BB Patch that rendered statless jobs "obsolete"? [1.2.328] Battlemages get their spotlight - Zacairga - 2010-07-18 Hazzy Wrote:Come again? Difference is DEXless Sins are screwed over because they need their 2ndary stat to equip stronger weapon. Warriors are the only ones who can go DEXless without limiting their equipment choice. Warriors are the only ones who can go DEXless without limiting their equipment choice. That's really not much of a problem if you plan ahead... There are plenty of dexless claws till 3rd job, and the lvl 64 claw can carry you until 4th job if you want it to. If you just start adding dex at lvl 100 you'll have all the dex you need. That is, unless they actually balanced out the L7 formula, but I digress. The point I was making was Random Overlord was talking out of his ass again. [1.2.328] Battlemages get their spotlight - Hazzy - 2010-07-18 I tried watching the Battlemage video, but it was boring. :| Music was kind of annoying, but the class just didn't seem as interesting as I thought it would be. Is that how you train? Throw on a buff and teleport into mobs acting like Katrina? Zacairga Wrote:That's really not much of a problem if you plan ahead... L7 and TT are direct ratios of the damage range now. It's like a 6 or so multiplier instead of 3.4 though, so it's not a loss. [1.2.328] Battlemages get their spotlight - CarrionCrow - 2010-07-18 Here is what I wanna see for NLs: Make my god damn Shadow partner different from the bandit version, even if only by graphics. Scrap the utterly useless new skill that seem to have a percentual chance to recharge a set of stars. 1. We have shadow claw. 2. Shadow claw duration got increased by what, 30 sec?. 3. Any NL with self respect has been packing enough stars to last them 4 hours ever since they first released 2x cards. My vision is that they replace it with advanced shadow partner. It should give a new look to my shadow and maybe add some kind of defence buff, or they can take away TTs chance of armor ignore and add it to this skil instead. Atleast it wasn't generic trance or massively painful j/krock. Everyone should have developed a reflex by now, that instantly makes you mute a Maplestory video. I love all the changes to Shadowers, 115%x6 +shadow partner after a Boomerang Step, here I come!
[1.2.328] Battlemages get their spotlight - Hanabira.Kage - 2010-07-18 CarrionCrow Wrote:Here is what I wanna see for NLs: Remember that Shadow/Spirit Claw consumes 200 stars upon casting. Let's say you're in a major boss fight and you realise halfway through the fight that you forgot to recharge (it happens). What are you going to do? Keep on using Shadow/Spirit Claw?
With this new skill (I'll refer to it as Shuriken Mastery. LOL.), you can use Shadow/Spirit Claw to make your star pool infinite and spam Triple Throw. Since your stars won't deplete after the initial 200 star deduction, Shuriken Mastery will only cause your star count to increase. At maximum skill level, you'll have a 60% chance that using TT will recharge at least 1 star. This basically reduces your star usage even more, perhaps even make your star pool truly infinite; this translates to an even lower meso consumption since your stars last longer/forever. [1.2.328] Battlemages get their spotlight - Fiel - 2010-07-18 Hanabira, I think you're seeing the trees for the forest. This isn't a star saving issue that NLs have a problem with - it's a space issue. Remember, there has to be a reason behind giving NLs infinite stars. The problem here isn't an NL running out of stars during boss fights since most of them bring at least 2 - 3 hours worth of stars anyway. This is a rebalancing issue between NLs and Corsairs. It's pretty unfair that Corsairs can last for hours on just five to ten sets of bullets and an NL cannot. NLs have to go back to the store and recharge thirty sets of stars leaving them no room for things like scrolls and pots. Stars will be in less demand because of this skill, and I foresee many NLs being able to keep their three to five sets of crystals without needing to buy more storage space for pots, rocks, and stars. Also there's a problem with bosses that dispel a lot. Each dispel costs an NL 200 stars. With this skill being passive, that helps NLs fight against star waste during boss runs. And what do you mean 60% chance of at least one star? All NLs use Shadow Partner all the time, and SP consumes stars too. So each TT will, on average, restore 1.2 stars. Consider that Shadow Stars lasts for 180 seconds and that NLs can TT about 100/min. Over three minutes, on average you'd save 300 TT * 6 stars * 0.20 to save a star = 360 stars. So yes, this skill does make NLs have infinite stars so long as the boss doesn't DISPEL DISPEL DISPEL over and over again. I think I read somewhere that Shadow Partner doesn't count as an extra hit where skills with activation rates for some effect per hit are concerned. Meaning that TT will count as only 3 chances for Shuriken Mastery to activate and not 6. Or was that person wrong? >.>
I think they were talking about Venom activation in that thread I read. |
