Well, I learnt nothing this chapter other than that Rin was stupid. The village that was chasing them was basically handing over a tailed beast to the leaf , because that plan was fucking stupid. They were lucky they managed to capture someone who was even more of a moron than the mists strategist, because she threw away what would only have ended up as a much stronger leaf village >_>

You mean a beast the leaf has no control over and was basically gonna be released right in the center of the leaf. basically using that as a pretext for a full scale invasion. Even if they managed to stop it they would be weakened as hell.

Yeah, because the reason they ever started putting tailed beasts into jinchurriki certainly wasn't EXPLICITLY TO GIVE CONTROL OVER THEM. Oh, wait. That is THE ONLY METHOD they have to control tailed beasts. pomegranate, they could have just put it in one of their own ninjas and had him walk up to Konoha and release the beast, in what would have been a much better plan.
The mists plan is goddam retarded. At ebst they have some magical jutsu that can pull a tailed beast out of a person. This only worked on Kushina because she had just given birth, and it took hours/days for akatsuki to do it to force a tailed beast out of a person and into the statue from anyone else, even if they were near death and hence couldn't prevent it themselves.

Wait a second, wasn't the hidden cloud village the only one that's been able to trully control a tailed beast?. That's what sources on the internet tell about it (besides Madara and Hashirama). Given that and that the cloud village wouldn't have cooperated on something like that, what chances were there of Rin controlling hers? Konoha practially abandoned Naruto (while keeping him in the village) for the same reason. Knowing she'd have just blew up inside Konoha letting the beast out and the village's guard down to a raid, her decision doesn't sound that stupid.

In a way. The hidden cloud got lucky with bee in that he was able to convince the 8 tails to work with him, yes. It turned out as we saw with the kyubii is all that was required is to convince your tailed beast you can be friendly. The other 8 weren't constantly bursting out of their hosts and wrecking everything though now were they?
Despite that, other Ninja were obviously able to use their tailed beasts despite not being from the cloud. Naruto (duh), the one who fought Kisame was able to transform, Gaara who got the most plantain headed of the tailed beasts was able to keep it in check as long as he didn't fall asleep/didn't go psychopathic (Not a problem for Rin).
In addition: a BABY naruto was able to keep the kyubii safe inside of him up to the age of (however old he was when he fought haku) with no prior knowledge of it even existing. Jiriya was instantly able to recongnise the seal used on naruto to keep the kyubii in when he saw it during the stand-on-water training, so not only did the seal have to have existed around the time of Minato dying, but other Ninjas in the village knew about it as well.
We haven't actually seen, for the length of the entire manga, any point at which tailed beast chakra has been able to even slip out without extreme anger/psychopathy/ the jinchurriki wanting it to happen, despite seeing/hearing about 6 of the 9 jinchuriki (2 captured off screen between part 1 and 2, and the last was roaming free when deidara/tobi caught it)
In addition to that, the village housed a tailed beast in naruto anyway, SOMEONE must have known how to place a safe seal, in case it escaped even if rins was shoddily made or something to let the tailed beast out, they could easily have fixed the seal in the same way jiriya fixed narutos when Orochimaru (Both of which, at this point may have still been in the village, for that matter!) placed a different seal on it which screwed with his chakra.

First of all, the hidden cloud also had Yugito, the 2 tails Jinchiuriki, who could also completely control her bijuu just as much as Bee. what this mean is that the hidden cloud didn't "get lucky", they developed a method to tame the Bijuus which they passed down between each other and eventually to Naruto.
As for everything else, it all comes down on what type of seal there was on Rin. Maybe they weren't just planning on leaving her there and expecting the seal to break, maybe they had the means to trigger the seal's break. There's also the chance that unlike in Naruto's case, where the the seal had been developed by the Uuzumaki clan and therefore was somewhat common knowledge among the hop tier of the village, this was an unknown seal that they couldn't just fix without risk.
There's slim chance that this is further developed in the coming chapters but I doubt so, there's no point to it. Since the "they can trigger the seals break" theory makes the most sense in this scenario, i will stick to that one until something is revealed.

The plan was simply stupid.
The cloud village showed that you can't just put the tailed beast in anyone. So what if Rin ended up being a failure or ended up "blowing up" before she even got to the village".
What if the tailed beast even took a liking to her? Congrats, you gave the leaf more power.
And of course Rin did the final smart action of sacraficing herself in case their plan might have actually worked.
The Rain was stupid in not planning some sort of genjutsu or brainwashing on her.

I mentioned some of these arguments to my roomate who reads the manga weekly and he said that the Hidden Cloud's plan was logical because we have no way of determining how they sealed the bijuu inside of Rin or how they proposed to make it run rampant in Konoha.
While I agree that we are missing a lot of information, I feel like the argument of "we don't know so it was a good plan" doesn't really hold water. Just letting Rin go without having any fail safe to increase the chances of their plan's success seems stupid to me.

They did get lucky though. The 3 previous 8 tails jinchuriki who weren't able to control/talk to the 8 tails like bee does. Plus, they explicitly said that Bee is one of the only 4 people in history to control a tailed beast.

Yes the page supports the idea that she probably oculdn't control it right away. This wouldn't be a problem if she didn't try to, otherwise all the other Jins who were children would immediately have been taken over by the tailed beasts when they firs ttried to use them.
Presumably we can include naruto so that its 5 people now. Still: the point is that none of the other jiinchuriki (including the other cloud jin) had the problem with randomly bursting into tailed beast form for no reason (other than gaaras aforementioned psychopathy due to his own fathers repeated attempts to murder him aside)

There is no reason to think anyone has the ability to break a seal without touching the person (like jiriya did on naruto). Still, you know what a good plan would be that didn't involve suicide? simply NOT GOING BACK TO THE VILLAGE WITHOUT WARNING THEM. Kakashi sends a message ahead saying they need a specialised sealing ninja to come out to somewhere else in the fire country. He's a highly trusted Jounin at this point, of course he would be believed if he sent a message back saying he had a fellow leaf ninja with him who had been turned into the 3 tails jin. And as we were told the ninjas following them were explicitly going to let them escape, there is virtually no way the plan could have failed.
For that matter, we also know that konoha had hidden safehouses scattered around (because sasuke restocked at one of them at some point earlier). Those would make a great place to wait!
