Only in pokemon would something like that be considered a major change.

Answer: Gamefreak is still making it, so no.

You obviously don't play 2-D fighters if something like the special/physical split isn't a large gameplay change to you.

I'm hoping they'll finally add in new types. It's been 3 generations, new ones are in order I think.

They toyed with the idea when making DP, you see. I wouldn't bring it up otherwise.

EDIT : Never mind, that was RS.

On a related note, d'you think there'll be any major changes in this game, like the physical and special split in 4th gen?

I like their sprites better than their initial design work.

I'd think so, since GameFreak is finally realizing the competitive community. I'd really like a balancing patch, if you will, to cut the five(?) tiers down to two: Used and Never Used/Under Evolved. *wants Pikachu to not suck*
I also predict the removal of Pal Park.

I really wish they would add something into the actual battles where you could control weather or not an attack could hit you or something, or even chaining moves together in quick succession to do things, like how the show did when I saw it when I was a kid...

@Berserk dodging a pokemons oncoming attack, if a button pressed exactly at the correct timing would be so damn nice.

Or probably have pikachu run on onix while onix is doing headbutt or something like in the anime, lol

Haha that'd be great, it'd be nice to have a more real time scheme added to it in some ways. Though how you could implement it after having 15 years of strategy turn based game play I wouldn't have a clue. Think sort of like Tales of Phantasia where you got to control Cress or another character and set there moves to certain buttons like 'R + ->' could be a Demon Fang attack. Or in pokemon R+A = Tackle... or something along those lines, and allow you to choose what you wanted to have on the shortcuts...

Though I think the way I put it sounds crappy as. Rolleyes

You guys are describing what Mystery Dungeon is and could be in the future, you know.

Ohh yeh I forgot about Mystery Dungeon, aren't they going to make it like a 3D dungeon rather than 2D next game? I've enjoyed the Mystery Dungeon games.

I have a feeling some how coding all that kinda of "real-world" type of physics stuff like a pikachu running on an onix, or whatever for each pokemon, depend on size, shape, weather or not it could fly, in the ground wouldn't be even feasible. There's just too many varibles for the over 400 pokemon there are to do something like that.

Order pokemon in groups based on size, weight, abilities --> Apply that to a small "micro-game" in a battle --> Depending on the attack, you can chain, or dodge other attacks based on the performance in the "micro-game".

I want some fast, simple, easy to learn/pickup and add a new layer of depth to battles. I don't think Gamefreak can disappoint, they never really have when it comes to Pokemon games.

After looking around 4th gen has less Pokemon that either have a baby or a second stage than 1st gen, that's just crazy. Buying Tauros baby that connects Tauros and Miltank, a Farfetch'd evo, a Pinsir evo and something to do with Kangaskhan and Lapras to make 1st gen with the least amount of unique Pokemon again.

Pokemon 5th gen confirmed 100% - Hazzy - 2010-03-18

Seriously, where the pineapple is my Pinsir evo? Scyther got one. Racist bastards.
